When you first start up the system, it will ask you to choose your language. If you have seen some PS Vita start up videos, you can see that "English" is one of the option in the Language setting.
Even though the PS Vita is from Sony, a Japanese company, the system is most likely made in China. They have good localization and the English interface will most probably not be broken.

flamebait title!

better a release date with more than 26 titles at launch than this holiday season release with just 26 titles.

".It just seems like a really unsuitable date to release one of the hottest handhelds around, when folk have just spent a boat load of money on Christmas and the New year"

Great for retailers though. New years and early January is actually when most of the Christmas shopping is done because of the discounts. This is why a lot of retailers tend to open discount shopping at midnight on Christmas Eve.

"Come on guys, think about it really hard, those retailing giants want those pre orders in for a number of reasons, they want to take that cash of your hands during the festive season".

That is true but these retailers tell you the date will change and also do not take this cash off you till it is released not when you preorder.

To be honest a post Christmas launch is quite smart if it does happen. Early January is a great time. These days Christmas has taken a back seat to the discount shopping post Christmas.

UltimateIdiot9112439d ago

Not only that but all those gift cards and returns that happens after christmas. Those are money waiting to be spent.

UltimateIdiot9112439d ago

I'm hoping January but expecting it to be March. I'm patient enough to wait for it. Hoping there will be good launch deals.

cervantes992439d ago

It will be March - the original PSP launched in March.

Dakidog2438d ago

I was thinking the same...but if we follow this pattern PS4 won't be out till holiday 2013, Vita comes out in march and Sony uses it to test all the new software before PS4.

cervantes992438d ago (Edited 2438d ago )

I think you are right about a PS4 in 2013. I think Sony will announce it at E3 2012 for a fall 2013 release. Any sooner and I think the system would seem rushed.

I would like a PS4 in 2012 though :)

Isn't this a good thing? I thought the launch wasn't going to be until next year some time. This article is making it out like a Dec 31 launch would be a bad thing. Certainly, it would be nice to have them for the Christmas season - but considering most weren't expecting it until March of 2012, this would be very cool.

Magnus2439d ago

I'll get one as soon as I find out if my cellphone provider will pick up the 3G PSV if not ill go with the other version of the PSV . Shame the thing does not come out on Xmas or before Xmas that would help the PSV make a step for the holiday season which usually means big sales for new electronic devises.

Solidus187-SCMilk2439d ago

Yeah I will probably just get the wi-fi one as wi-fi is being put in more and more places anyways.

I have ATT already but dont want to pay any more money. I really hope it is similar to how japan is and you buy pre-paid cards. That would be great as we wouldnt need to have a plan or anything. I wouldnt use the 3g too much so pre paid would be cool for me.
