TGV Preview and Hands-On: PowerUP Heroes

PowerUP Heroes is an upcoming Avatar game from Ubisoft that will punch, kick and superpower its way to Kinect on October 18th, 2011. The hands-on time with the upcoming retail title shows off why it just wasn’t cut out to be a simple XBLA title, but is a fleshed out head-to-head brawler that will intrigue players young and not-so-young. (Kinect, PowerUp Heroes, Xbox 360)

Kick, punch, it's all in the mind!

How was the fidelity on the motion controls? Mostly with Kinect games you just flail about and hope for the best, but this seems like it needs more precise controls.

It was actually really precise. I was surprised at how well it read my body movements.

I keep wishing MS would put less focus on Kinect for the sake of all 360 users over the age of 12, but this doesn't look half bad.

Still wary of the price tag, which seems a little high for the content I saw.

One of my girlfriend's kids is actually really interested in this. The big kid in me finds the idea pretty cool myself. I'm very tempted to buy this for him, if it works.

I gave Pierre my business card, so we should be getting one for review on the site. I figure if it's as short as I'm expecting, I can send it her way after the review's done and garnered as much fun as I can from it.

ive noticed a lot of people looking down on some of the games coming out for kinect like rise of nightmares and gunstringer. That talking down usually moves on to another game that is getting good comments from the previewer. I just guess a lot of people use the expression don't judge a book by its cover but actually don't realize the meaning behind it. Idk people are entitled to their own opinion but their opinions are mostly made with the idea of hating this product because it contradicts with there preferred type of games. Either way the product cant be judged until its out.

Are you speaking generically or was it something I said in my preview?
Shadonic  +   1445d ago
No not your preview generically its like even though good developers are making great games people still are pushing it down because its a motion controller title and not because of the quality of the game or how its played.Once it comes out and if it does do great they end up eating their words and just repeats the process over again. I do agree with your preview 20 suits plus a short story is not that much hopefully they will add some new suits like a splinter cell or assassins creed or maybe a DBZ goku suit or naruto they can add anything if they get the permission from the owners.
