The article talks about Madden way too much. Also, I think the sales numbers are wrong. Human Revolution was supposed to have sold 600,000 copies in the first week. Somebody confirm.

August is traditionally the month of Madden with football season arriving at the same time. The game's absence from August's tracking period DEFINITELY affected August's overall sales. They would probably be up at least $200 million if the game launched like it would usually do. I'd say Madden merits a lot of discussion.

NPD doesn't give out numbers directly anymore. So I sourced the number NeoGAF gave for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Only NPD & the game maker know what it sold for sure.
