The games as art debate has been going on for years, this back and forth between the pretentious and the condescending on each side has never appealed to me for many reasons.

A few weeks back a colleague asked me what I felt were some underrated games, straight away I responded with Mirrors Edge, a game that I described as “beautiful”, this lead to the colleague sitting the other side of me to question my sanity, call me a geek, then refuse to talk to me for the rest of the day, it wasn’t the concept of Mirrors Edge as underrated, it was more the idea of calling a computer game beautiful. (El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron, PS3, Xbox 360) 7/10
