PSLS: Dead Island Review

In this console generation, Zombie games are a dime a dozen. To truly make it in the well-stocked market, one has to separate itself from the undead pack by offering things that no one else has done before – that, or combine everything you love from most multiplayer co-op games and add in a kick ass Zombie-infested map. The latter sums up Techland and Deep Silver’s Dead Island. But just because a game boasts several tried and true features, doesn’t mean that it has to work. Does it work for Dead Island? Or should this corpse be left to rot? (Dead Island, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 7/10

I'm a big fan of PSLS. To me their reviews are the most acccurate and the most honest. Great work on this one.

That is pretty much spot on.

Finally someone gave this game the mediocre score it deserved. Sorry, but there just isn't much pulling me toward this game. I feel like that launch trailer was... bait...

You'd have to be a serious tard to follow a CG trailer expecting a similar result game wise. The game is a serious zombie title, something at least represented in the trailer to an extent. What were people expecting from the trailer anyway? I don't know what you could grasp from that. Really feels like people are grasping for reasons to hate on this game.

Not really but 7 is a fair score for a game thats only real positive is its combat. I'm not going to jump to defend a game in which every task is a fetch quest, zombies respawn in exactly the same place and it's far too easy. I haven't died yet. That pisses me off. If it was about survival there should not be drinks everywhere. You should have to scavenge harder. Also i'm not sure in what serious zombie universe a military grade machete would break after killing two thugs.

7 isn't a bad score but it's accurate. But with 6 months extra that 7 could have been a 9.

serious zombie game? LOL common, theres quests to go get a bitches teddy bear, seriously..., and theres plenty of quests just as medicore as that, and then the other guy that said "in 6 more months could of been a 9" the game had been in development for almost 6 years.... if 5 years isnt enough to release a game without these serious of issues then they need to find new programers and coders

5 is mediocre, 7 is good but not great.

12hrs in and buyers remorse set in at hour 8. A complete rental imo. I hate how hype blinds many "mainstream" sites and people just fall in line. duped me.

I am glad I rented it first. I am having a blast but with games like Uncharted 3 and Skyrim coming out soon, my money would be better suited for them.
