Im sure its a good piece of tech. But besides dance central, I havent seen any other games to justify the 150 dollars.

Kinect Sports, Fruit Ninja and Child of Eden are all well received games.

Upcoming Forza 4, ME3, Ghost Recon, Ryse, Steel Battalion and Fable: The Journey all look promising.

The fact, is with every console release there are hardly any games out for it the first year.

Why would you expect anything different for Kinect?

Especially, when they already released a number of solid and well received games.

Defend it with games already , not empty speeches

Ironic that the "biggest names across the industry" defending it are the ones making games that incorporate it. I'm done criticizing Kinect tbh, I owned it, I sold it and chances are, I don't see any real reason to buy it again.

Still if developers feel the need to constantly defend it, then it's Microsoft's fault for the direction they are taking it. Xbox is a console for the fps junkies.. not catering for them when initially unveiling Kinect I still think will cost them and for many of us former fanboys, it's left a bitter taste in our mouths.

I think Kinect is a great piece of technology but some of us still like traditional controllers.

And with good reason.. trying to navigate menus using just kinect is sloppy and annoying.

gamingdroid2657d ago

I don't find it sloppy, but I just use the voice integration: "Xbox Play"!

FlashXIII2657d ago

I meant ingame. The game I got it for was ufc trainer and it was awful to navigate with a controller

I think since this is really the first of it's kind on the market, there will be plenty of those to go around until a universal language is figured out.

Remember in the old days, when you had obscure missions that didn't tell you what to do? This generation has moved leaps and bound over previous when it comes to usability.

That said, voice control in the game menus should be mandatory.
