Top 10 Video Game Intros

CheatCC: "It's hard to overstate the importance of a good beginning. The first five minutes of any video game must work especially hard to not only grab the attention of the audience, but also establish the game world in the minds of players in a way that makes sense. Sometimes this means introducing a gorgeous fantasy world through an opening cutscene or introducing the characters you'll be spending countless hours with through dialogue. At other times, this could mean simply introducing players to the basic mechanics of the game.

Either way, this generation has given us some especially memorable game beginnings. We have scoured our game collection to bring you the ten beginnings that have left the biggest impressions on us. Without further ado, here are our favorite game openings of this generation."

Hulk Hogans Main Event will have the greatest intro of all time!

I thought the intro for Killzone 2 was pretty awesome, and 3 aint bad either. Brian Cox just adds a certain degree of awesome sauce to proceedings.

Wasn't this article posted last week? Anyways, I guess my fave is still Armored Core 3. The battle scene was stellar along with the track playing with in the background. It's unforgettable in my eyes and should be seen at least once.

Did this person play any game from other gens? And games that weren't on PS3?

Way to read the article. The second paragraph clearly states that they are the best intros of this generation.

All from this gen again, honestly... Onimusha 3s epic opening beats most of these.

Kyosuke_Sanada2572d ago

Geez, I feel terrible for forgetting Onimusha 3. That intro literally had my jaw on the floor.

Same here. I can't think many game openings that can top it, even this gen :)

They're supposed to be from this gen. The article even says it.
