blipREVIEW: Rise of Nightmares (Xbox 360/Kinect)

Gamesblip writes: Let’s face it, so far Kinect games have all been, well, really f*cking ‘nice’. Cutesy avatars doing cutesy things, with the biggest death blows dealt upon fruit. So, bless those twisted, devilish puppies at SEGA for splattering numerous ghoulies amongst the pigeons... (Kinect, Rise Of Nightmares, Xbox 360) 8/10

The critics seem really divided over this game.

Hopefully Sega will release a demo so we can make up our own minds.

Terribly written review. It's a paragraph of "cool" phrases with no substance. There is barely a mention of anything outside of things the Kinect is supposed to do. There is no mention of anything that reviews normally cover. Hopefully the other reviews have more to say than the hyperbolic "it wows in much the same way Dragon’s Lair wowed with its LaserDisc tech".

If he would have said the game sucks and followed the sony fanatic hate agsint kenect and anything ms then you would probably have found the review to be very informative and well written.

Can either of you explain why the review is NOT terrible? Where is the criteria for the review? What values are placed on presentation, sound, replayability, graphics, function, or any other review-like criteria? I don't care about the random score placed at the bottom of the review. The review itself is terrible.

It depends on how you approach the game. There is a learning curve. Some things don't work as well as others, but Sega has included auto walk to help people who are havind problems. You can play most of the game with the aid,use it off and on, or never use the aid at all.

I recommend using it to help if you run in to difficulty. then go back to default
