Gareth of ParaNerds.com takes some time to really appreciate some of the Console's launch games. This time he looks at Kameo.
I am not being a sexiest here but I think Kameo would have been more popular if the main charter was a guy. Do you think if Link was a girl he would be what he is now.
Nah, this game was a great launch title. I wish they'd make a sequel. Haven't you heard most people play as the female Shepard in Mass Effect? This game used colorful graphics and boss battles and was a sign of what was to come. Too bad developers now tend to stick with black, white, grey, brown, rust and dark black as their main colors of choice. I advise anyone who hasn't played this game to pick it up, it's like $5 at Gamestop. One of the best platformer's this generation.
Fantastic game. The Badlands (overworld below the castle) sections were very tacked on and unpolished (partially since it was added during the game being ported to 360), but the rest of the game was great. Yea a little on the easy side, but amazing production values, amazing art direction, great music (have the soundtrack in my car), and was probably the last REAL traditional Rare game we've seen. There was a ton of stuff on the cutting room floor at the end of development, the ending left it wide open for a sequel, the game sold over a million copies, and George Andreas seemed keen on a sequel around the time of launch. Hopefully we get one, and not that ugly uber-realistic sequel that got cancelled a year or two back.
