CanWest News Service technology writer and video game critic Marc Saltzman reports the recent Financial Times' worldwide sale numbers for the Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3. Saltzman then gives a console report card -- from a video game critic's subjective perspective -- to reflect how the leading consoles stack up this holiday season. The games are comming next year and after, so you attack someone who graded the PS3 low for THIS holiday?

The simple fact that you admit the games are comming after THIS holiday season for which the grades were assigned makes me believe that he was very right, and maybe even nice.

If a PS3 fanboy is saying the games aren't comming out for the period graded, that's certainly saying a low grade is deserved.

Based on grading for "this year" on all the different variables the article is spot on. Seems to me some people just can't deal with it. Who knows what the future holds, the article is basing things on the present.

that is some of the most arbitrary scores ive ever seen. the positive things he said about the wii and the 360 and yet he says hardly anything about the ps3 having both the positives of each console..for example..the wii is wi-fi and has the wii channels and a motion sensing controller...but a crappy library of games. And the 360 has a ton of games and its a media center for movies and mp3s and so on...well the ps3 has wi-fi and a motion controller and a freakin internet browser to keep you up to date with the news and such...plus it has a good library of games and it can be a media center and play mp3s and movies and so on. so it has everything he wants out of the wii and 360 in one package..plus an hd player and it gets a c-. two letter grades lower. oh and 289 for a wii and 399 for a ps3 is not twice as much.

You can count the GOOD Wii games on one hand. Zelda, Metroid, Mario and Rayman, all 3rd party games have sucked.
PS3 has made the greatest improvements of the 3 consoles. From E3 till now. WarHawk, Uncharted, PS Eye, Eye of Judgement, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet & Clank, Haze in 2 weeks, $200 price drop since launch, firmware updates nearly every month. This writer is just a tool.

Of course, even medicore games can be million sellers on the Wii. Look at Red Steel. Even RE4 on the Wii has sold a million, and, though I think its a great game, its a third party game and must suck.

Then we have all the games I was looking forward to next year...so few first party, I guess we shouldn't have gotten our hopes up about No More Heroes.
