Research: Competitive gaming causes more aggression than violent games

Button Combo writes: "It might be time to take a break from competitive gaming. One study suggests that competitive gaming causes more aggression than violent games.

Over at Brock University in Canada, a study has been going on trying to find which causes more aggression faster: competitive gaming or violent games. The games which were played by subjects were categorized by different factors. Competitiveness, difficulty, and pace of action were all taken into account with each game. After the study however, the results were conclusive."

Competitive games bring out the anger in people. Violent video games are just fun to play.

It's probably true. I definitely feel more violent when competing. It adds a layer of intensity to it.

I honestly can't play online games for like more than an hour because certain types of people make me so mad...

Meh. I make it into a game for myself. See how many people can kill me repeatedly before my team starts bitching about how useless of a player I am.
