What it's like to play online games as a grownup

Cartoon from The Oatmeal shows what it's like for us adults to try and play online with kids. (Culture, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

I don't like it too much to be honest. Most kids (12-16) are just annoying little punks. Constantly scream like someone is holding and squeezing their balls. Sometimes I wonder if it is even a little boy or a girl because you just can't tell by the voice.

But what pisses me off really is the constant racism and questioning someones sexuality. The constant trash talking and being very immature and just trying to ruin the fun and the good mood otherwise the game would give.

For me, kids ruin online games a lot of times that is why I stopped playing COD and if I play online I only play with my friends or mute every person if the option is there.

I understand that they don't know better because they are kids, but after years of online play I got fed up!

Something should be done online that would separate the teenage players from the rest of us. It would be a better online experience. (Except for a few individuals)

I agree with most of what you said, but you know as well as I do that MANY adults are just as guilty of what you pointed out as well.

Online gaming is just a wasteland of trash-talking dumb fucks of all ages, and I have met many cool people, young and old alike.

Some kids are really fun to play with, as well as some adults, it goes both ways, although the balance is definitely swayed in their favor.

I don't think that separating people by age would be a better experience at all. Yeah, the trash-talking can get out of hand, but many nights I've found myself in tears I was laughing so hard.

Bubs for you.

What's worse are adults who act like children. Who do all of what you described, except they're old enough to know better.

"the enemy hordes are coming, sir."

That's why me and my friends take a shelter in the party chat.
