Geek Revolt writes:

"Finishing games can be hard at times; it’s not necessarily the difficulty level. There are many other things that come in to play. With Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, Saints Row: The Third, Skyrim, Arkham City, and many more AAA games coming out this year, it’s more important than ever that you finish what you start. I finish about 95% of the games I start, maybe more

rabidpancakeburglar2243d ago

There's a high chance that it's the exact opposite of that

grailly2243d ago

you're lucky to have the time... or unlucky and don't play many games... hard to tell.

I play games for fun, so if I'm not having fun anymore I'm on to the next one. I would was I finish 90% of the short games and 70% of the long games. I finish all good games though.

Some bad advice in this article though. Give yourself a deadline? That just makes games feel like work

Holy crap, a useful N4G article. Good tips there. I fall victim to buying too many games and not having time to finish them all. Also, some aren't my type, and I end up playing it, stopping, picking up again later, playing, and stopping. I'm going through this with Fallout 3 now. I don't like it, but I feel like I should...

I have LA Noire and Dragon Age 2 on a shelf unopened right now. I have used copies of Gears 2, Halo 3, Orange Box, and Infinite Undiscovery sitting there waiting to be played. I have Infamous and Wipeout HD on my PS3 hard drive and I haven't played them yet.

All of this, and there are probably 10+ games coming out in Q4 that I want.

Play inFamous. NOW!!!

I was the same with Fallout 3, it ended up on my shelf for a few months - then I finally picked it up again and have been hooked ever since.

Some of the games are just too boring to finish in my opinion. Like Final Fantasy 13. Started it, put in about 9 hours and then I just got bored. It's been months now, and I'm planning on going back and finishing it.

Another game is L.A. Noire. Started it, still haven't finished it. Quite repetitive in my opinion: (Go to crime scene, look for evidence, question suspects, follow leads, solve/fail the crime) rinse and repeat for the next case. I have to work on that too. I think I'll play FF 13 first.

I went through a phases (when I had a larger disposable income) on not completing games. Now I buy less games I finish them all. Sometimes two games come out in a short space of time but my system of playing one then the other. Being very choosy with games helps. It would be nice to buy every game but I can't

Good article.Im currently trying to platinum sly collection(im on the 3rd installment), Fallout New Vegas(This 1 is a bitch because u have to replay it a few times unless u have multiple saves.)& my Multiplayer line-up is Modnation Racers&Battlefield Bad company 2.Im looking foward 2 BF3,Starhawk,Twisted Metal&maybe 1 Singleplayer game like Batman,Skyrim or Rage.

spektical2243d ago (Edited 2243d ago )

i havent finished la noire

i know i will get bashed, but it got boring pretty fast, imo..

Dovahkiin2243d ago

I agree, there should have been more to do between cases. Especially in the game world itself; the True Crime games did it well enough. L.A. Noire was a good game but it was such a letdown.

mt2243d ago

same here it got so boring toward the end. but i had to finish it so I could sell it.

despair2243d ago

I agree, I play it on occasion, I like the game but its not something I can do over an extended period, only short bursts and in between other games, that worked for me, still haven't completed it yet but I'm getting there.

Ser2243d ago

Same. I just can't muster the will to finish it.

thespaz2243d ago

Me too! I thought it was just me that didn't care for the game much. It may sound weird, but I expected it to be more crime solving and almost every crime was exactly the same.

I still haven't finished it either. This game has no reason to be open world because there's nothing in the world to do but drive.

spektical2243d ago (Edited 2243d ago )

^^ thats exactly how i feel.. it shouldnt have been so open world, because there really wasnt much to do...

grailly2243d ago

yep, the game was ok, but in pure rockstar fashion was filled with missions we didn't need, and it got boring. RDR is still the only rockstar game I ever finished.

The only game I own that I haven't finished is Red Dead Redemption.
I lost all my interest in that game for some reason. May give it another go in a few weeks.

HeavenlySnipes2243d ago

all the flower collecting and stuff they expect me to do in-between missions isn't fun. At all. The random side missions are all the same too, "go here, shoot a guy/hogtie him; mission done".

All there really is to do is the main missions but they are all pretty much the same. Ride alongside someone for 2-3 minutes. Get to a point and have a shootout/kill everybody and hogtie one guy, or runaway on horseback being chased. Horse racing isn't hard at all, especially when you get a stallion.

despair2243d ago

I heard a lot of people stopped playing around Mexico, I almost stopped there myself but I enjoyed it enough to get through it, now if only I can bring myself to go for the platinum.

grailly2243d ago

the mexico part is tough to get through, but it's worth it. The end part of RDR (last quarter) is one of the best game experiences you'll get this gen.

EdFry2242d ago

If it weren't for the two songs; the one you hear as soon as you end up in Mexico and the one you hear as soon as you're leaving Tall Trees I would have given up on RDR.
I actually decided on my second playthrough to not do any of the challenges or stranger missions (Except "I Know You") until the very end. It's a much more satisfying experience.
