"MW3 will only be in development for 9 months". Well that's bull. MW3 technically has been in development for over a year nearing two years. Just because a new COD comes out every year doesn't mean it is in development for less than a year. Different teams work on each game. Bit like BF (and spin off like BC) and MoH.

OT: I agree that both games haven't really shown me anything to get excited about. Multiplayer is great but for me (console user) the amount of heticness is never going to happen due to less players. I also prefer single player games and the story for both doesn't look outstanding. For me I am going to buy Uncharted 3 and AC revelations because they are big story based single player games.

LOGICWINS4615d ago

"For me I am going to buy Uncharted 3 and AC revelations because they are big story based single player games."

You have good taste. Not to say that MW3 and BF3 won't be good games, but multiplayerwise I don't see THAT many changes from MW2/BC2. UC3 COMPLETELY revamps UC2's online.

Scrupuless4615d ago

revamped or not uc3 is still pretty lackluster experience when you compare it to either cod or bf series. Not to mention uc3 is a third person shooter, so technically hard to compare to fps.

ForgottenProphecy4615d ago

Actually, IW started development of MW3 a little bit after Black Ops came out and they announced it on their twitter when they did.

TABSF4615d ago (Edited 4615d ago )

Well Bad Company is a spin off from Battlefield but Medal of Honour is a different series completely and Dice was only involved in the multiplayer coding.

Battlefield 3 for me on PC.

Looking forward to gaming this 2nd Half
getting over 10 games from F1 2011 to Skyrim :)

3GenGames4615d ago

Programming, coding isn't what you make games with. ;)

it's ...COULDN'T CARE LESS!

jeez...article with crap title like this can be approved now? as long as it's BF3 vs MW3? pathetic!

edit: I know it's been mentioned already but it's annoying!

miDnIghtEr4615d ago

Completely agree. This is what happens when you have young kids able to approve articles.

So let's get it straight.. this kid could care less as the title says right? So show us how much more you could care guy.

MidnytRain4615d ago

Actually, the phrase "could care less" has been around since the '60s. It was originally used with a negative comment, giving it a logical meaning:

"Nobody here could care less."

That statement makes perfect sense, but when the phrase was desired to be used in in a non-negative statement:

"I could care less about politics."

...the phrase itself was left unaltered. While it's worth noting that the phrase is a corruption to begin with, the usage is acceptable and understood in American English as an idiom.

''nothing I have seen so far from Battlefield justifies it’s hype.'' Well imo the reason BF is more hyped than a game like Arkham City or Rage is because multiplayer FPS r wats hot right now. Thats y homefront,Brink,Killzone etc were all hyped 2 death. Judging wat i have played in bad company 2& from wat i've seen/heard about BF3,it does seem like BF is the most deserving of the hype its getting. But I wont truly know how good it is until I play it.AS far as the BF vs CoD war goes,i think its mostly about personal preference.I mean Im buying BF but I cant blame someone 4 choosing MW3.

LOGICWINS4615d ago

I think the one of the major reasons BF3 is being hyped so much is because people want to see MW3 fail...at least thats what I see on the Internet. If u look at Youtube vids of BF3, seldom do you see a comment thread without someone downplaying MW3.

MrSent4614d ago

A lot of the BF3 hype comes from the Gameplay trailers and the word-of-mouth from the Alpha trial and Demo's at E3, Gamescom, and PAX. People have played this game and are very stoked to get more of it.

I will agree with you that there are so many articles coming out as of late that are nothing but garbage.

Flamewars and trollbaiting start when someone has an opinion and makes it seem factual, like most of these stupid "articles".

blink30204615d ago

I could care less too because i'm getting BF3 and MW3, both fully paid

Gunner_Ali4615d ago

am getting both games
battlefield 3 for ps3 get free game
cod mw3 for 360

StayStatic4615d ago

So if you started caring less you would eventually get to the point where you COULDN'T care less ?????

ForgottenProphecy4615d ago

look up the definition of an idiomatic expression.

Call of Duty Players Disappointed by $80 B.E.A.S.T. Glove Bundle Deal

Recently, players of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone were met with a new bundle featuring the B.E.A.S.T. Glove, inspired by King Kong's armament in the Godzilla x Kong movie. However, the $80 price tag attached to this themed accessory left many Call of Duty fans feeling underwhelmed.

Morons that allow themselves to be milked continuously by this company is the definition of irony.
Spend more $$ and you'll end up In easier lobbies so you win both ways when ya spend that cash

Controversy in the COD community feels like it happens within an alternate timeline. Activision will take the piss with something, there will be a momentary fuss about it, and then they will forget about it and carry on anyway. Repeat this cycle literally every year for the rest of time.

Gridknac5d ago

They call that a crack head! Thats what this is really about, its an addiction. People who dont smoke cigarettes look and laugh at the addicts that spend $8-$10 a pack, but they cant help themselves, they are addicted. That same analogy applies perfectly to the whole MT industry. Only an addict that was not thinking clearly would spend this kind of money on something so frivolous. A round of multiplayer provides the same high a person gets from scratching a lotto ticket, or putting money on a sports bet. MT in general need to really be regulated because you have a generation of kids becoming adults who grew up only knowing the MT era of gaming. Its normal to them and they will in turn teach their kids the same by just being a gaming parent and getting their kids involved with them in gaming. Thats why no matter how ridiculous the headlines keep getting out of the MT industry, it never seems to fade or go away.

I'm so tired of hearing about what they're doing with this game, its never going to change and it's never going to value the consumer over money, furthermore the people who engage so heavily in the microtransactions I guess allegedly are having a blast and can't wait to do it some more this year when the new version of the game drops.

Cheech And Chong Are Coming To Call Of Duty Because Everything Must Be Consumed

The famous comedy duo is the latest example of pop culture becoming one big grey blob

Christopher19d ago

Certain to have some sort of reference to their online store for CBD/THC chews, which is advertising heavily online the last month or two.

Sciurus_vulgaris19d ago

The randomness of the multiplayer characters is one of reason I quit playing COD after briefly returning in 2022. We got Space Marines, rappers, tree monsters etc. all in a series called “ Modern Warfare”.

OtterX19d ago (Edited 19d ago )

I think if there was ever a time for a competitor to rise up and take away some of Call of Duty's thunder, the time would be now. A military shooter that takes itself seriously, not sold out to Fortnitism. Easier said than done, I know... but the time is ripe.

I can't stand this stuff either.

Palitera19d ago

There are tons of MP shooters that make no profit, if you're looking for one of those

fsfsxii19d ago

You guys have been saying this shit since 2009. Fortunately, nobody’s bringing down cod anytime soon, if ever.

crazyCoconuts19d ago

I agree. I really didn't like how the silliness takes away the gritty origins. That and all the crazy effects... dunno. I'm still playing it but I'd love for someone to steal their cheese and cater to grittier players

OtterX18d ago

@fsfsxii It's not so much wanting COD itself to die as it is wanting this silliness to die. Like CrazyCoconuts said, it takes from the grittiness. Many OG COD players want a straightup Military shooter experience, not silly costume time at Carnival.

Profchaos19d ago

is this what the kids want these days a pair of iconic stoners who were big in the 70s and have kind of held on I enjoyed their movies decades ago but I never recall the movie where cheech infiltrates a enemy base while chong snipes for support guess I must of missed that one

Man I'm getting to old for this

Knightofelemia19d ago (Edited 19d ago )

Cheech just looks so wrong in the picture.

Profchaos19d ago

Why just why. cod up in smoke

anast19d ago

They charge too much for a game that is kitsch.

MW3 missed its easiest opportunity to give us some of the best Call of Duty maps ever made

From Bootleg to Black Box, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 made a heartbreaking mistake by not remastering the bizarrely forgotten maps from its namesake.
