Battlefield Vs Call of Duty and Why I Could Care Less

Gaming Irresponsibly's Forgotten Prophecy tells us why neither of these FPS titans have yet to impress him. (Battlefield 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

"MW3 will only be in development for 9 months". Well that's bull. MW3 technically has been in development for over a year nearing two years. Just because a new COD comes out every year doesn't mean it is in development for less than a year. Different teams work on each game. Bit like BF (and spin off like BC) and MoH.

OT: I agree that both games haven't really shown me anything to get excited about. Multiplayer is great but for me (console user) the amount of heticness is never going to happen due to less players. I also prefer single player games and the story for both doesn't look outstanding. For me I am going to buy Uncharted 3 and AC revelations because they are big story based single player games.

You have good taste. Not to say that MW3 and BF3 won't be good games, but multiplayerwise I don't see THAT many changes from MW2/BC2. UC3 COMPLETELY revamps UC2's online.
Scrupuless  +   1498d ago
revamped or not uc3 is still pretty lackluster experience when you compare it to either cod or bf series. Not to mention uc3 is a third person shooter, so technically hard to compare to fps.
ForgottenProphecy  +   1498d ago
Actually, IW started development of MW3 a little bit after Black Ops came out and they announced it on their twitter when they did.
TABSF  +   1498d ago
Well Bad Company is a spin off from Battlefield but Medal of Honour is a different series completely and Dice was only involved in the multiplayer coding.

Battlefield 3 for me on PC.

Looking forward to gaming this 2nd Half
getting over 10 games from F1 2011 to Skyrim :)

Programming, coding isn't what you make games with. ;)

for god sake

jeez...article with crap title like this can be approved now? as long as it's BF3 vs MW3? pathetic!

edit: I know it's been mentioned already but it's annoying!

Completely agree. This is what happens when you have young kids able to approve articles.

So let's get it straight.. this kid could care less as the title says right? So show us how much more you could care guy.
MidnytRain  +   1497d ago
Actually, the phrase "could care less" has been around since the '60s. It was originally used with a negative comment, giving it a logical meaning:

"Nobody here could care less."

That statement makes perfect sense, but when the phrase was desired to be used in in a non-negative statement:

"I could care less about politics."

...the phrase itself was left unaltered. While it's worth noting that the phrase is a corruption to begin with, the usage is acceptable and understood in American English as an idiom.

''nothing I have seen so far from Battlefield justifies it’s hype.'' Well imo the reason BF is more hyped than a game like Arkham City or Rage is because multiplayer FPS r wats hot right now. Thats y homefront,Brink,Killzone etc were all hyped 2 death. Judging wat i have played in bad company 2& from wat i've seen/heard about BF3,it does seem like BF is the most deserving of the hype its getting. But I wont truly know how good it is until I play it.AS far as the BF vs CoD war goes,i think its mostly about personal preference.I mean Im buying BF but I cant blame someone 4 choosing MW3.
LOGICWINS  +   1498d ago
I think the one of the major reasons BF3 is being hyped so much is because people want to see MW3 fail...at least thats what I see on the Internet. If u look at Youtube vids of BF3, seldom do you see a comment thread without someone downplaying MW3.
MrSent  +   1497d ago
A lot of the BF3 hype comes from the Gameplay trailers and the word-of-mouth from the Alpha trial and Demo's at E3, Gamescom, and PAX. People have played this game and are very stoked to get more of it.

I will agree with you that there are so many articles coming out as of late that are nothing but garbage.

Flamewars and trollbaiting start when someone has an opinion and makes it seem factual, like most of these stupid "articles".
blink3020  +   1498d ago
I could care less too because i'm getting BF3 and MW3, both fully paid
Gunner_Ali  +   1498d ago

"Why I Could Care Less"
So if you started caring less you would eventually get to the point where you COULDN'T care less ?????
ForgottenProphecy  +   1497d ago
look up the definition of an idiomatic expression.
MrSent  +   1497d ago
Dave3087  +   1498d ago
It's "I couldn't care less".
Klaykid123  +   1498d ago
Thank you!

mendicant  +   1498d ago
You cared enough to write an entire article about it. Just sayin.
Motion  +   1498d ago
In his defense, it was stated in the title that he had some level of caring :p
mendicant  +   1498d ago
True, but he should've titled it somethinge else.
MrSent  +   1497d ago
In his defense, he is special.
ChillZzz  +   1498d ago
Why the controversy ?

You simply can buy it both.

Or if you only have 60$ in your pocket you can easily tell both game to screw themselves and go with Skyrim :)
Cpt_kitten  +   1498d ago
eh call of duty is the same rehashed junk, ill stick with battlefield once again
Mario4life  +   1498d ago
To be honest i dont care about this cod vs bf thing either, why fight, its kinda the genre of raceing games, some are serious and try to simulate the real thing (like gran turismo) and one has a arcade feel with fast pacing (like ridge racer/burnout), the only thing they truely have in common is that they are both shooters

TheObserver  +   1498d ago
Sigh... Is the title supposed to be a joke? Gaming journalism saddens me. No click.
ForgottenProphecy  +   1497d ago
again, it's an expression. It is greatly recognized in the English Language.
TheObserver  +   1497d ago
The correct way to use that expression is "I couldn't care less." It is pathetic for ANY writer of the English language to make such a mistake.
RyuCloudStrife  +   1498d ago
People who care and spend their time bashing CoD are the BIGGEST butthurt and sorry azz people on the internet.
3GenGames  +   1498d ago
I believe the ones that are the biggest butthurt people are the ones defending such business model of Activison and COD.
guyver4  +   1498d ago
I'm getting both, barring anything terrible in the upcoming BF3 beta that is... Bf3 looks amazing, hope it plays as well...
I know I'll like mw3, I don't care I'd its just upgrade over mw2 and nearly everyone on my friends list will have it so...
AngelicIceDiamond  +   1498d ago
I sorta agree with this guy article except for "BattleFields 3 online support comes from people who just flat out hate call of duty".

Not entirely true while BF is growing a huge fanbase as we speak. BF popularity is not solely based on Cod haters but newcomers and general gamers who like to mix it up like my self.

Which btw I'm sick of these blatant black and white reasons that everyone thinks. "Cods multiplayer is filled with kids." kids are everywhere and they're in every one of our games, So little kids Will be playing BF. (Being realistic)

Now this ones a good one. "My prediction is that PC version of battlefield 3 will be pretty good, but still will be nothing compared to games like Batman Arkham City and Uncharted 3.

2 veery different genres you cant compare Batman an action adventure to a realistic military shooter or a beautiful cinematic, story telling third person action shooter. Other games and genres have lives outside of Cod and BF u know.

Hey creator of this article. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU THINK.

I know it's been mentioned but... IT'S I COULDN'T CARE LESS. FOR HELL'S SAKE.
MidnytRain  +   1497d ago
You're trying to use logic to decipher an idiomatic expression. Fail, dude...
JBSleek  +   1497d ago
Am I the only one who sees a paradox in saying you don't really care about either but you write an article?
_Aarix_  +   1497d ago
Eh screw it, im going to get gears of war.

"couldN'T care less".

if you COULD care less it means that you care to begin with. if you COULDN'T care less it means that you dont care at all, so you cant possibly care any less.

why do americans in particular have such a problem grasping this saying?
