Great Gaming Crusade: "Video games based on movies and other media have had a bad rep since their conception for being poorly executed and exploiting money from fans of the movie or other media, particularly the young and uneducated gamers. “I loved E.T.” – the words that lead many potential gamers astray. Now is this statistically true that movie games are worse than non-movie games? Not really. The factor here is that movie games gain movie hype; if you liked the movie, you should like the game, right? This hype adds to disappointment when a bad game parallels a great movie or vice-versa."
