Gamasutra: French toy-gun maker Cybergun, best known for distributing Softair model toy firearms, has acquired a 50 percent share of online game developer Online Warmongers.
It's an undeniably attractive proposition: create a free-to-play, triple-A shooter that will look as good as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 on ultra settings. That's what the folks at Online Warmongers have attempted with War Inc. Battlezone, which FPS Guru was invited to take a look at during GDC.
Gamasutra: The free-to-play market is exploding, and getting quite crowded in some spots. But there's still a huge market opportunity for AAA-quality free-to-play games aimed at a Western core audience, and a new company called Online Warmongers hopes to take advantage of that.
