The Koalition Deus Ex: Human Revolution Review – Eidos Sneaks A Good One By Us

Gary A. Swaby of TheKoalition.com writes: This is the most difficult review I’ve ever had to write. It’s hard to effectively detail why everyone should play a game like Deus Ex: Human Revolution knowing that there will be those that despise it. There is also so much that makes up this game that I will need to go into tremendous detail to do it justice.

For those unfamiliar with the Deus Ex series, it is a first-person RPG. The first game was released in 2000 and set a new standard for both first-person shooters and video game entertainment period. It was highly praised and topped many “greatest video games” lists. The second game Deus Ex: Invisible War had a hard time living up to the standard that was set with the first game, and many die hard Deus Ex fans consider the game to be the weaker of the two. It is clear then that Deus Ex: Human Revolution has a lot to live up to, but the fact that the game is on new and more advanced tech means that they have the opportunity to bring the franchise to the next level. (Deus Ex: Human Revolution, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 10/10

I can't believe somehow that this is this good. I will have to check it out for myself.

If it's a perfect game like the score suggest that it must have the best graphics ever seen, the best sound ever heard, must have hundreds of hours of gameplay and must be able to do whatever you want in the game and every second must be enjoyable. That is what a perfect game should be....is it really that good?

My understanding of review scores is slightly different from yours. I don't see this 10/10 as being "The best game ever made EVAR!!!!" I see it as being near perfect for what it is and what the developer was trying to do with it. Who said this 10/10 should be compared to Super Mario Galaxy or something like that, it makes no sense.

Some people may only like racing games or platformers. If so then no matter how good this game is it will never be their "best game ever" so honestly review scores should not be compared. Nor should it have to be the "best" in a specific category like graphics.

IMHO!

It's insane that the best Square Enix published game this gen is going to end up being a game that they only have the rights to due to a buy out rather than one developed by their own Japanese studios.

Roll on Friday (UK) for release. Good day for me Friday, this game and also pay day. Deus Ex is my favourite ever game, and this new one seems like its going to be great also, going by the reviews so far.
