Fox Engine is a new multiplatform development tool that Kojima Productions is crafting in-house. Development of the engine began after the team finished their development on Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and is designed to allow the team to create multiplatform with far more ease.
PES will finally transition from the Fox Engine to the Unreal Engine, and the game will allow for more realistic player models and animations, enhanced physics, photorealistic visuals, and much more.
Is this the end for Kojima's hailing Fox Engine?
That's great but for gods sake let's have a new commentary team with all new dialogue and more intelligent analysis. Great way to make a game feel stale out of the box when they're saying the exact same stuff they were five years ago.
Commentary isn't important in itself but it's an example of how they leave some things to stagnate while focusing on tiny improvements in animations.
What if Metal Gear Solid 3 (argubly the best in the series) gets remade in MGS V’s FOX Engine. YouTuber kur ko04 gives us an idea. While definitely not official, it certainly looks pretty beli…
well... I guess it would look like the jungle parts of MGS5
At the opening of Kojima Productions' Los Angeles studio last week, studio head Hideo Kojima withdrew a 2011 statement indicating the company's internally-developed FOX Engine would be available for licensing to schools and small developers.
Shiny.
Looks shiny like in front of a light source instead of that plastic/rubber shiny from UE3.
One thing that makes this engine superior to UE3 is that skin looks like skin.
SNAAAAAAAAAAKE!
low resolution textures, low polygon count, NO sub surface scattering, NO tessellation with displacement mapping, very proper SSAO and crappy bump mapping are all OBVIOUS fails of the fox engine lol the skin looks plastic. consoles FAIL. kojima is limited by your crappy consoles....the entire game industry is its not just him. PC FTW!!
I wonder if its meant to be like that? I don't see how Kojima would allow something like that to happen. Maybe with an actual texture on it, it will look a bit different? I mean everything but his forehead looks pretty good in terms of modeling.
