Is the required online pass for Battlefield 3 a true online pass or is it a VIP pass?
At this point it doesn't matter. Just give me the damn game already. There are no good shooters on the market at the moment. So tire of all the old stuff.
If I was EA I'd stay the hell away from "VIP" passes. It caused a lot of aggro with bad company 2 and rightly so. I didn't feel "very important" when they unlocked content for me which I had already paid for on the disc.
Doesn't really affect me as I buy most of my games new anyways.
It was probably not their best move just when they are trying to take on COD and entice people over... some people will not take the time to find out what it really means and just assume it is a pain in the ass they can not be bothered with! But it should not hurt them too much, I know I do not really care about it and will be getting the game day one anyway! The game will be very good, I will be playing it, so will lot's of other people!
. " Talking with GamerZines.com, Battlefield 3 Executive Producer Patrick Bach made the statement that players would probably need to register a code included in the box to access the game’s multiplayer, but he did not believe it was the online pass. "...O_o... If I need that code/pass to play on line IT'S A ONLINE PASS, no " probably " about it!!! The Sheeple believe anything these days. MW3 has no such thing and the game, multi-player, co-op are all included in the price of the game. If they release map packs, they will cost you extra. " IF " you join up/ enroll with COD Elite, then all the map packs will come included in that subscription plus all the other features included in the COD Elite ecosystem. If you buy MW3 and it isn't your thing, just head over to Blockbuster ( if it's still there ) , Gamestop or futureshop and trade it in. It will be worth top dollar as it's a popular, well like and well made game. Black ops is still selling at a high price...MOH for example, the last COD killer, is at the bottom of the bargin bin. I think Battlefield 3 will be worth half the price you paid for it as soon as it's in your hand because of all the EA scams connected to it. It wouldn't surprise me if stores didn't even except Battlefield 3 on trade as it will launch 2 weeks before MW3 and by the time MW3 launches, kids will be trading it in by the millions...watch and see.
EA is evil! Plain and simple. They aren't just greedy, but malicious. They introduce all these things that are just plain nasty like ugly DRM, disabling of your entire Origin account based on being banned or inactivity, introduces online pass and so on. EA makes Activision look like a gift from heaven and I really don't know why people defend, support and even praises EA. Ironically, these online passes will hurt the developers more as there are less people in the community to play against, less people will be introduced to the game (for their next sequel) and finally, it gives used game peddlers an opportunity to increase profit margin!!!
Wait, haven't CD keys been used in PC games for years? I'm pretty sure you can't trade in the majority of PC games due to the CD keys being used
