The Humble Indie Bundle #3 just ended and it’s been the most successful one yet.
WOW...clear sign that PC gaming is alive and very very well. I see a big shift coming in the next few years to PC unless new consoles are introduced. Just my opinion.
You are right, a number of core console gamers (yes core does apply here) are slowly looking more towards PC for a superior experience, I have heard a lot of reasons too. Games like ARMA 3 and BF3 of course, but also people looking to play older games which they enjoyed with upgraded features due to a lack of continuity from sequels. Then you have the casual market bleeding over from the Apple products and sites like Facebook. PC gaming is climbing and it's pretty likely to keep growing for a while as PC's are a household essential in many places now, Combine this with the fact technology is progressing so fast at the moment and the fact social networking has exploded and is drawing in millions and millions of people to communicate and interact through their PC's, Its inevitable the market will grow exponentially. The most amazing part is the fact it is happening due to things PC devs never even needed to encourage
Totally agree with you. I mean this is my opinion based on FACTS that more and more people are becoming gamers due to casual games. You raise a very good point, social networking in one way or another has impacted the people who play games on PC. They turned this generation into what AOL was back in the day in terms of the community and people being involed online. I don't understand why people who disagree with that statement lol oh well it's the interwebz.
I think that gaming, in a broader respect, is on the rise among entertainment-seekers.
I see games as a better value than say a movie or a bowling. It may cost more but the hours of entertainment compared to what you pay are greater.
I sure hope so! I'd love to see some more big name titles on the PC. I loved Gears of War and I'm sad that they made the move to be console exclusive. Seeing as I'm on the PC all day, it's only natural to want games to play on my PC.
