Konami attributed an increase in sales to strong showings from baseball titles such as Proyakyu Spirits 4 for PlayStation 3 and Jikkyou Pawafuru Puroyakyu (MLB Power Pros in the US) for Wii.
For the fiscal first half ended in September, Konami posted sales of 133.7 billion yen, up 12 percent from the comparable half a year ago. Operating income was 13 billion yen, an increase of 29 percent, and net income was 6.3 billion yen, a rise of 23 percent.
The Winning Eleven soccer franchise also was a "steady" seller, along with strong sales of Dance Dance Revolution series in North America and Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops in Europe. Silent Hill: The Arcade also helped boost sales in the amusement business.
