Fallout: New Vegas keeps me coming back

SG - It’s August 2011, and a number of unfinished games sit at my side: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age and MotorStorm: Apocalypse. All wonderful games of undeniable quality, and all forfeited in favour of a year-old Bethesda RPG running on an engine ten times its age. As you might have figured, I’m talking about Fallout: New Vegas, an RPG that was well-rated to a degree last October when it was released.

I bought it a month ago and only 2hrs into it...

so how long before this game starts getting good/interesting?

I hate to break it to you, but things aren't actually going to get progress far until you can make your way to the New Vegas strip - which you won't be able to do until say 1/4 of the way in (around 15 - 20 hours for me I think).

As a handy piece of advice for someone just getting started with it, DO NOT LEAVE THE ROADS! You are going to get your ass handed to you if you try exploring off the beaten path at low levels.

return the game asap...better hrs wasted on better buys

and i just didn't feel like playing and part of it was all the issues with it. But after the latest patch most of the game has been fixed so if you want to get into now its a lot of fun and mostly all the issues have been fixed

if you google the patch its quite long and shows how many things were fixed

It keeps me coming back also :) lol,..especially because I lost all the saves due to corruption,.. twice on pc.

It is probably fixed by now,.. So I might patch it up and give it a go once more,.. I actually think they did a better job with Fallout universe, than Bethesda's team,..

It's good but it dosen't have the same effect on you as Fallout 3 did. The thing I hate the most about it is that you only gain a perk every two levels now.

rabidpancakeburglar2203d ago

Agreed that it didn't have the same effect but Fallout 3 was the first fallout I played so that was always going to have a massive effect. While NV started pretty lame it got really good later on and I have found myself playing it again for the last week. I like the story better, Fallout 3s main advantage over NV was that it had Liam Neeson.

I should really go back and platinum it, i got pissed off tryin to get the trophy where you need to get banned from all the Casinos

Ser2203d ago

Yeah, that one's pretty tough with a low Luck stat. If it's high, though, you'll win constantly at Blackjack.

Somebody tell me how you find the portal to the last piece of DLC? My pip boy never gave me anything once I purchased and loaded it up.
