SINGULARITY...and what's sad is, although it's clearly a Bioshock clone, it's actually a brilliant idea. It wasn't executed properly. I bet if it got a sequel, the game would be marvellous
100% agreed, it did give of a bioshock vibe but it did so in its style :D the game is awesomely wicked, whoever published/developed it should make a longer and improved sequel as soon as possible, i'd for sure buy it XD
Saw the trailer on YouTube by pure luck and bought Singularity on release day full price,a month later half price....WTF, never seen such drastic price cut in Norway before.Though Bulletstorm had later similar fate, and I bought that game at release day too, worst luck ever. I had a blast with Singularity SP and saw a somewhat small but buzzing MP community.I played some MP but set my eyes on another SP game I just had to play.I went back to the Singularity MP a month later, wow it took forever to fill a group of players to start a match. I don't know how bad this title sold, but with zero plans for MP DLC and few modes to begin with, it quickly died out. I still kick myself for not sticking to the MP in the beginning, now I have no chance of getting the platinum trophy, too bad it had so many trophies linked to a dead MP feature. The sun don't shine on me one bit.
I loved Singularity. The list forgot Enslaved, Singularity, Metal Arms, Beyond Good and Evil, and The Saboteur. All of those are brilliant games that if found at a store, will be 5-10 dollars used. What a shame.
The only two I played were Brutal Legend and Eternal Darkness. I didn't know that Eternal Darkness did poorly. That game was epic. I still tell people about it today. As for Brutal Legend, I barely started it but it's in my pile of "games I want to play but have no time for" along with Portal 2, Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 3, Heavy Rain, Fallout: New Vegas, Dead Space 2, Darksiders and recently added to the pile: Alan Wake.
Work and family. I love both of them - but man, they cut into my gaming time. :)
Eternal Darkness is AMAZING. Probably some of the best controls I've ever felt in a Survival Horror. That and the game does a great job at downright freaking the shit out of you. The voice acting is great, the storyline is so awesome and the replayability is very high if you want to get the true ending, since the first chapter basically sets the tone of what kind of game story you will be getting.
Definitely definitely DEFINITELY get it man. You will not be disappointed at all.
Zone of the Enders 2 was amazingggggg, it was way ahead of its time, with thousands of mechs fighting you and an army of your own, you would never think it possible on PS2, I have a copy of it if anyone wants to buy it :)
:S Halo reach almost matched black ops sales all from one platform... a lot of people played it, they just all realized that reach multiplayer sucks in comparison to halo 1,2 and 3.
here are 2 games we should get to play atleast madworld should be on ps3 with move support
zone of enders is getting HD remake so if people want a 3rd one buy the hd remake to prove to konami that this IP does have a fan base that will support it(ps don't give me excuse about why should i have to rebuy when ZOE 1-2 never sold well anyway)
Totally agreed on ZoE2. It's one of the best game I've ever played on a Playstation system. I've also played ZoE1, but it's nothing compared to its sequel.
I'm so glad that there will be the HD collection, the series deserves it.
Though 1.5 million is a respectable number, I still felt that this game deserved a lot more attention than what it ended up recieving. With games like Modern Warfare 2 selling in the tens of millions, it's sad to see a refreshing original IP like Brutal Legend not doing much better than what it did.
Yes I'd have liked it to sell more as well but I'd imagine that there are games that are as good which didn't sell as much, which could be in it's place
You've got too many high-profile games on that list. Brutal Legend, Madworld, Turok 3, Metroid Other M, and ZOE2. All of these games were well-recieved when launched, and still remembered fondly (and recommended to other gamers today).
They're only games that "no one played" if you're writing solely for casual gamers that are only really aware of stuff like Call of Duty. This is N4G. News For Gamers. Know your audience.
Though, still, this isn't as bad as last week's list of games no one played that had, like, 3 or 4 Final Fantasies.
It was 1.5 million by february this year as sales built up slowly. I would guess that everyone that loves either metal, gore or jack black would have played it, so that would be just about all of them.
It's the best action game this gen. One of the best games I've ever played period. From the graphics to the level design and the gameplay it's spotless.
No More Heroes 1 is a really good game, but the sequel's kinda bad IMO. The gameplay is better, but it felt totally uninspired to me, the story is rubbish.
It has lost his own soul. It was a let down for me.
yeah, I agree that story was better in first one... gameplay is more or less the same... sure, second isn't better than first, but it's still a very...very...very a good game..
Haven't played Shadows of the Damned yet (maybe even more proof as to why it should be on a list like this), though I do mean to pick up a copy in the near future. Looks rather interesting.
That game is only my favorite JRPG released in the last decade. And it's developed by JRPG pioneer Nihon Falcom. Unfortunately, peoples heads are so far up Squeenix's ass that they refuse to play good JRPGs. Instead, they play FFXIII and think it's good when it's actually really bad.
Yep, the first half of the game is awesome, but the rest of the game is not that good. It also feels unpolished, and it gradually becomes less hilarious.
I was a bit disappointed in the end, it could have been much, much better.
Yeah, I've played quite a few of those as well. I really enjoyed the article, it brought back great memories. Especially from playing Jet Force Gemini and Zone of the Enders 2
just got n64oid for my phone, ill have to try some of these out. i remember wanting winback SO BADLY back in the day, but i guess it just kind of slipped from my mind entirely and i still have yet to play it.
Played Brutal Legends I love that game sure hope Sega will port Mad World over to PS3. And I never played Zone of the Enders 2 but I can enjoy it now on PS3 with the Hd remake of the game
Brutal Legend was very decent. It was certainly a different style to RTS and I loved how Double Fine tried an original approach; something most developers should try out.
Eternal Darkness was amazing for it's time. Blew all of the Resident Evil games combined out the water. And I just pity the fool who's never played ZOE2.
What was so "new" in Other M, aside from SenseMoveTM? Other than that, it was little more than a very average Metroidvania game, with a couple significant gameplay issues, and a nearly character-destroying story.
Metroid Other M may not be the greatest Metroid game in the series but it sure ass hell should be played.
Remember if your a PC Gamer like me then you do have a Wii "hint hint"!!
I'd put Blur, Psi-Ops, and Freedom Fighters on my list as well. All great games that got nowhere near as much attention as they should have.
Oddly enough, I also had alot of fun playing "Dead to Rights: Retribution".
Work and family. I love both of them - but man, they cut into my gaming time. :)
Mad World was repetitive and not that great in the first place, and Other M took 2 steps back both gameplay and story-wise.
I definitely wanna check out Turok 3 Shadow Of Oblivion and Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem.
The voice acting is great, the storyline is so awesome and the replayability is very high if you want to get the true ending, since the first chapter basically sets the tone of what kind of game story you will be getting.
Definitely definitely DEFINITELY get it man. You will not be disappointed at all.
so i wouldn't consider that as "almost matched black ops sales all from one platform..."
madworld should be on ps3 with move support

I feel ashamed. Since this is literally the only game I've done this to.
this list should include:
No more heroes 1 & 2
Shadows of the damned
Child of eden
Vanquish
Sin & Punishment 2
Excitebots
The gameplay is better, but it felt totally uninspired to me, the story is rubbish.
It has lost his own soul. It was a let down for me.

I was a bit disappointed in the end, it could have been much, much better.
I just replayed Hybrid Heaven a couple days ago. It's a great game. Lost my copy of Jet Force.. I wish they'd either remake it or make a new one.

What the fuck is this guy talking about? Half his list is made up of games that were highly successful and sold millions of copies.
I know at least half those that was played.
