Gaming Irresponsibly takes a look at the Playstation branded 3DTV to decide if gamers are really missing out.
Why is there a link in the lead in? Also... no, not a good deal
There, I fixed it. Don't you agree with the Uncharted idea though?
It's a big f**kin deal! ... as in overpriced deal! All I have to say is you can get a 32" TV for half the cost: http://slickdeals.net/perma... Or you can get a 21.5" Lenovo LCD PC Monitor for less than $80: http://slickdeals.net/perma...
At least link to comparable 3D sets, not PC monitors and 720p TVs. The entire reason for the bundle is 3D, not just a 24" HDTV.
true i saw a 32inch 3d lcd tv at walmart the other day for $698.00
First of all. No other TV on the market does what this one does (which is supposed to be its main selling point): FULL SCREEN local coop, through Sony patented technology. Second, while I do agree R3 is on the spotlight right now and it is a shooter, so it has a wider appeal, I gladly welcome the change. It is a win/win situation. Sony wins getting some copies of MS3 out the door and 3D fans win because MS3 is BY FAR the best 3D game so far on the PS3 (1280x1080 native, beautifully upscaled to 1920x1080, it provides two very sharp images in 3D, I'm surprised nobody has acknowledged the amazing technical feat Evolution studios pulled off with this game). The same cant (sadly) be said about R3 which reportedly is sub-HD in 2D!!! i cant even imagine how blurry the 3D implementation will be. I dont want R3D, it is a very bad way to show off your new 3d tv.
Here you are again, lol. Is your 21.5" PC monitor a 3D-HDTV set? Can it display two full-screen images at once for co-op? 3D glasses? Does the bundle include a game? Oh, it's not a bundle? No? Nothing?
If they released it now, it would be a good deal, but... It's coming to America at the end of the year, and probably arrive in Europe next year at 499€. The way the prices of 3D TV's are going down, we can probably get a 3D TV 32" next year at 500-550€ (almost the price of the the 24" Playstation 3DTV)... witch TV do you think most people are going to get, a 3D TV 32" or 24" Playstation 3DTV? 24" Playstation 3DTV at 499€ released now, would be a good deal. 24" Playstation 3DTV at 499€ next year, it's way to expensive. If they release it next year at 350-400€, then it would be a good deal.
Get a realty head cheeck motorstorm 3 is supirior in many ways to most games out there!! near Native 1080p mLAA in game custom soundtracks! incredible frame rate!! epic destructive scenes!!! Polygon characters!
Big deal! I'll be buying one for the cool split screen.
so everyone is losing their minds over a different game being included, i thought they changed the resolution of the tv to 480i the way people were complaining.
It is a bit of a screw in that its a PR bait and switch. That they got the publicity for offering it with a new game not out yet and now after the buzz has worn down its suddenly a game that's been out for a while. I mean tis not like they couldn't that bundle along with the R3 one.
Preorder from GameStop and get R3 free, as well as MotorStorm. http://www.gamestop.com/acc...
I was about to post this for US people. With this, not only is the problem solved, you get even more bang for your buck!
Resistance 3 is rated M. Granted, it's targeted at college students, but it's still probably smarter to go with a T game.
??????? Your comment makes no sense. Its like me saying: Eye Pets is rate E. Granted it's targeted at kids, but its still probably smarted to go with a M game.
No. What u said makes no sense.
What... Just because you don't get R2 with it anymore it suddenly becomes a bad deal? AS a 3d monitor with the features it has it's still a great deal. At this moment in time.
If you read the article you'll find a helpful link in there now. Go pre-order the TV at Gamestop right now and they'll give you a copy of Resistance 3 as a bonus. So you'll get Motorstorm AND Resistance 3 along with the glasses, HDMI cable and TV for $500.00 Doesn't sound like a bad deal to me, I'd do it if I was in the market looking for a TV that size. P.S. Actually here is the link. http://www.gamestop.com/acc...
OR for an extra $148 - http://www.amazon.com/VIZIO...
I think we should have another article like this repeating the stupid comment about the game change vs one intelligent article which talks about the performance of the monitor... not the stupid game change... what does it make it... 5 in 2 days...
I know it's supposed to be affordable but 2 players on a 24" screen? I don't think so. I wouldn't buy anything less than 40" even if I lived in a dorm room, ESPECIALLY for 3D
The best 3D tv on the market is not samsung or sony in fact sony tv‘s they arn’t that good panasonic are very good and for me being a tv enthusiast for your money is the LG THX PX990 60in the worlds first get it now for about £2000 it's come right down now if you don't believe me google it now, brilliant tv for the price.
it's a big deal for msxbox-world.com for others they'll just be happy with 3D and split screen.
You can grab a 42 inch Vizio from Walmart that is 3-D and 1080p for under $800 and you can get the 32 inch one for less then $500. This is not a good deal. I don't even like 3-D but I know a deal when I see one and this isn't one of them. I had the chance to buy a 42 inch 3-D TV or a 55 inch LED for the same price and I went with the LED. There just isn't anything compelling about 3-D these days.
Yeah but they're not 240hz (one's a laughable 60hz, the other 120hz). If you want stunning 3D, you want 240hz, not just a price. Do they come with a game and glasses? Can they display full screen split screen to 2 users? 3D gaming is phat.
I agree with KingSlayer with this one. You have to look at the quality of the TV. If you are going to spend top dollar on a 3DTV you have to look that the hz and it has to be 240hz. There really is no question if you truly want the best 3D experience. Sony's bundle is still a good bundle IF you are looking to break into the 3D gaming experience. However I don't think that 3D is all the popular yet when it comes to gaming and this bundle is Sony's way of trying to get 3D into the consumers homes...which is smart of Sony but until 3D is done properly without glasses, there will only be a very small demographic for 3D entertainment.
The PX990 IS 600hz LEAVE THE TV‘S TO SOMEONE WHO KNOWS SONY MAKE A GREAT CONSOLE BUT THERE TV‘S ARE SHIT M8 THEY HAVE FALLEN BEHIND SADLY. 60hz your living in the 90‘s 240hz your living in the noughties this is 2011 m8 600hz the worlds first THX YOU have not got a clue i could see that when you said 60hz go to Av forums and learn m8.
24inch 3dtv monitor+R3+160gb ps3 for 499=one hell of a better deal!
LED’S ARE NO GOOD FOR 3D. All tv enthusiasts use a nice big plasma when it comes to 3D and my ps3 looks great on here the 3d is brilliant. Get the LG 60in PX990 THX 3D SERIES the worlds first THX TV FOR ABOUT £2000 it's the best for it's price google it for great reviews or go to AV FORUMS see for yourselves sony do great game consoles but have fallen behind when it comes to tv‘s, YNWA.
Sorry to say 240 hz that's rubbish the PX990 IS 600hz you know nothing about tv‘s so stop making fools out of yourselves.
