Heavy Rain, Edited For Teen Rating, Ready For European Re-release

Siliconera: It appears Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is preparing to re-release Heavy Rain again. We discovered Heavy Rain Edition Modifiée rated by PEGI, the European ratings board. Interesting. But Heavy Rain touches every bit of taboo and mature themes around. I can't imagine how this game can be Teen rated. It is violent and has sex and what not, but the entire theme is a mature one. This is a game that is played with thought and emotion, and it takes a really mature mind to understand the game.

"This is a game that is played with thought and emotion, and it takes a really mature mind to understand the game."

Is that like a subtle way to boost your ego? Heavy Rain is an interactive Lifetime movie.

If they cut out the sex scene , and use different camera angles in the nude scenes - that imply what's going on without actually showing anything - they could get away with a teen rating.

That said, I'd rather Quantic Dream just make a new game, instead of worrying about a teen release for Heavy Rain.

I really want to see how far these quick time events can go, and Quantic are the perfect devs to push it further.

Qd prob arent even doing it or if they are its a short project. Cage wanted his new game shox at e3 and publhcly said so before the event. They hav a new game that is far enough to be shown so there is no reason to doubt they r allocating resources improperly.

They aren't cutting anything! In the UK this game was originally rated as a 15.

Oh, I can see it now, the police will have walkie talkies instead of guns and blood will be replaced with candy dust!
