The Bargain Bin - Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

"Often times I find myself wandering through my local video game retailer for upwards of a half hour musing over all the low cost titles. My funds are generally pretty limiting when it comes to affording games so I’m always on the hunt for a bargain or something I’ve had my eye on for a while waiting for it to come down in price." -RoboAwesome

i agree, Dragon Rising was an awesome game!! had a lot of fun with it.

if you like it, you will LOVE Red River.

Caught myself looking at Operation Flashpoint: Red River the other day, but at that price Dragon Rising sounds awesome. Being different from CoD/Halo is a huge selling point for me. Not knocking either, but I'm getting worn out on that style of shooter.

I highly recommend it, especially if you embrace a little thinking in your games. Now granted, its a bit rough around the edges, but still a great alternative to the COD-centric shooter fatigue that has plagued this gen. Besides, at this point, DR should cost little to nothing.

Yeah the game is a bit rough around the edges and the friendly AI isn't the brightest but if you rustle up some good buddies and hit the 4 player co-op this game is pure brilliance.

"Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is one of those titles that gets absolutely flogged when the reviewers get their hands on it but for the most part I think it’s a grossly misunderstood title. For one – many people have been indoctrinated into the Call of Duty and Halo style of shooter preferring the fast action, short life span, instant gratification that these top tier shooters offer."
A VERY true statement.
