Borderlands 2 was officially announced today and although the original was amazing, it was not perfect. So how could Gearbox Software change Borderlands to get it closer to perfection?
Yeah, hopefully they add new things to the game, I mean the firt was great and all, but if it's a cut and paste sequel, I probably won't pick it up. Definitely agree with improving the environments and the multiplayer.
I did really enjoy borderlands at first, but it did get quite boring quite fast. They just need to cary the combat styles a little and the enemies that are out there to get you. I mean even with the DLC it was a bit boring. Just develop more combat styles, obvious choice.
Have the ability to create your own weapons and have far more bosses that are very difficult to beat because I beat borderlands solo with ease.
Making your own weapons sounds awesome, although it might lead to people just sticking with one type of weapon when (I'm guessing) the developers would want people to experiment with all of them
Making your own weapons would be awesome! It'd fit well with this whole customisation trend that's going about at the moment..
All I ask for is simply just more options for customization. 4 characters was not enough and the extremely limited options for customization (if you call changing the colours of their outfits customization). Other than that, I really don't care if they don't change anything else. Oh, better security would be nice. my brother won't even play with me because he is pissed off that people were able to hack their characters and give them extremely high levels and weapon damages.
That's the first I've heard of character boosting within Borderlands, what platform were you playing it on?
On the 360. When you say "boosting" that can be done on both the PS3 and 360 since you just need to join a room where the person that opened it is playing on a playthrough higher than yours. Since the enemies are tougher with each play though, you gain more XP faster thus leveling faster, however you die much faster as well, but you buddy can just whip through the stages since XP is shared and you gain in LVL really quickly. That is fine and is within the games perimeters... What I am talking about is all out hacking and modding and then going online. http://www.youtube.com/watc... Looks like it can be done on the PS3 as well. http://www.youtube.com/resu...
I liked Borderlands and thought it had a lot of potential, although there were a few things I'd like to see changed! 1) Replace the overly childish humour with humour that is actually funny! 2) Flesh out the RPG character elements, more interesting and varied skill trees! 3) Have a better story! 4) Have a decent ending! I think there are a whole bunch of things that they could do that would turn Borderlands from a decent game, into a truly awesome one!
I started playing the first one yesterday before the second one was announced. The only thing I would like changed so far is some kind of mini map or waypoint marker and less completly useless guns. Why the hell are there like 17000 level 2 guns? About 10 minutes in they are useless.
@ Trainsinrdr above: But making your own weapons kind of takes away from the thrill of finding obscure, badass weapons in a pile of loot. I personally like the weapon randomizer.
still want a make your own char thats the only thing i could see to make the game even better, maybe clothes to improve class stats kind of like getting different shields so it always better and later on there are perks (regen health etc.etc.) only thing i don't agree with is the multiplayer/hoard mode, it dose not need it its fine with the coop, not to mention multiplayer would be completely unbalanced do to the crazy guns in the game
I want to like Borderlands, but two things keep me from enjoying it. One is the split-screen. Having to navigate a full screen menu using half the screen is crap. It should have been redesigned to fit on half the screen, or allow either player to use the whole screen when in menus. The second thing is weapon inventory management. I had a hard time getting into the gameplay because I stopped to compare every single gun I came across. I'd like a system that is a little more automated if I choose, based on preferences, so that I can just grab every gun without thinking, and know that I'm keeping the weapons that suit me best. And they should add two player split screen online so that two people on the same console can play with two others online. It sucks having to choose between four players online or two offline.
WHY DOES EVERYONE CALL IT HORDE MODE?!?!?!?! Seriously! Devil May Cry 2 had never-ending enemies also and they called it "Bloody Palace Mode". This pisses me off SO MUCH!
Because Gears 2 made it popular, that's the only reason I can think of
I know. I know. It just bothers me. :/
Bloody Palace is just a survival dungeon mode. It's single player. Paper Mario had one too Hell, most Roguelikes work that way. Climax Landers worked that way. It's not a coop mode with waves in an FPS/TPS. The first example of that I can think of is the Unreal 2K4 mode where you fight waves of enemies from Unreal. There are probably some others though.
All I hope they do is add tons of customization. Borderlands was really addicting for me since I had so many new weapons to get, or so much looting to do. Now imagine if we could not only loot weapons, but also loot gun parts, or others of that sort? They don't need the ability to customize armor so they can keep things simple (although I won't be against it) but the ability to customize guns should now be an industry standard in all shooters on the market. That and more skills and a higher level cap. Everything else they add will surely be icing on the brutal cake.
