Is Nintendo of America Unable to Communicate with Consumers?

VGChartz: "As our ways to communicate with friends and family over the internet increases, so has the ability for companies to communicate to their consumers. Now, it's almost criminal for a publisher, or in some cases even developers, to not have a Facebook, Twitter or whatever account. Thanks to these new forms of interaction, communication between the publisher and and the consumer are no longer limited simply to email, the press and forums. So it is a bit strange to see one of the biggest gaming companies in the world almost completely ignore consumer communication."

Yeah, I'd say they're pretty behind the times utilizing the power of social networking to communicate with their customers.

Reggie's twitter is ready.

I'm not sure if it's a matter of whether they CAN or not, I think it's more about whether they care. After all, morons who keep buying Carnival Games and LEt's Dance are driving sales, not the hardcore supporters.

If they didn't care at all, they wouldn't bother to hire someone as charismatic as Reggie Fils-Aime to be the public face of the company.

I hope you were being sarcastic.

miyamoto2490d ago (Edited 2490d ago )

charismatic? ...... dude, really?

Reggie isn't even a gamer he said.

Nintendo of America IMHO has pulled out the best marketing with the Wii & DS but I see they got too over confident this time holding on too much to their profit (greed) & resting on their laurels for too long like that hasty hare until its too late.

They should have used that huge cash flow to do a quick follow up fast break being the innovative team they said they are.

naznatips2491d ago

Uh... they don't make those games nor do they make much money off licensing for them. Nintendo development is in vast majority traditional franchises and game. But yes they suck at communicating.

Spectator12491d ago

Heaven forbid they don't use twitter or facebook!

Nintendo's lack of communication with and understanding consumers has been a point against it for years, ever since it took years for them to create even a bare bones online service. The confusing Wii U presentation and the denial of Operation Rainfall seems to confirm Nintendo's inability to communicate and understand.

Their approach on online play has always annoyed me.
