Games Catalyst: "Keen to put the power back in the hands of the expert craftsman, Project Soul are all about putting the emphasis on skilled play this time around..."
I'm extremely excited for the new Soul Calibur. Ever since Tekken added the ground juggling Soul Calibur has taken its place as my favorite fighting game. I loved SC4 and will be buying SC5 day one. I'm really liking that they are pushing the timeline forward and added new characters and move sets. It will be like playing a whole new game. One thing I hope they bring back is the character creation system. I had an entire roster of awesome characters. From Superman and Wonder Woman to Mr. Clean and Chef Boyardee. One of the best parts of SC4 was the customization and I really hope they keep it in there.
SC3 had better character creation, but I still play SC4 to this day. And I had about 28 characters I made up... And built their own story as well! And the CaS (Create a Soul) mode has already been reconfirmed.
My biggest complaint about SCIV, and now will be for SCV, is how ungodly annoying they've made the girls' voices. In SCIII, Xianghua was my favorite character. But come SCIV they made her voice damn annoying to the point where she was unplayable for me. I don't normally advocate women empowerment, but they could at least make the female characters sound stronger.
Change to japanese voices. The english voices are bad for almost all characters imo.
True... very true. But even then, there's a noticeable difference between SCIII and IV on the Japanese voice acting. I ended up shutting off the voice volume all together, which also ruins some of the experience.
