A look at how calling The Old Republic a World of Warcraft killer is terribly incorrect.
I have played it and while it looks great, there is still that damn level grinding that gets really old. I dont have 10 hrs a day free to play.
Well i suggest you show a higher level of dedication to Gaming. 1. Disown your family 2. Quit your Job 3. Barricade yourself in your gaming area for 10 hours daily (12 hours on weekends) 4. Remember while your away from the game crying and whining, some poor kid in a communist 3rd world country is chained to a PC and beaten with a bamboo stick until they reach level 80. So suck it up and get back into the game you wuss! LOL j/k all for laughs.
haha Elite. Only problem I have with Pay to play MMOs. Server time is never balanced with pay rate. I played 10 minutes this month. Ah!!! $15 bucks? I don't have 4 hours a day to play and that is most of my free downtime. Except on days off.
Psh, Not a WoW killer. But a great game, it will be. (yoda speak for star wars article)
GW2 & FireFall FTW!!
although GW2 is Grand on all scales, bigger than Skyrim, and most likely GOTY I'm going with.......... Tera and FireFall FTW!! with a little The Secret World on the side and a dash of Black Prophecy
Tera is taking forever. By the time that game make it to the west it'll be too late.
WoW has been around so long, that it doesn't need to worry about being "killed" That said, there's such a huge fanbase for Star Wars. It will get plenty of players. It won't "kill" WoW, but it can compete just fine.
Not this shit again
keep trying other mmo's.....lol....keep trying! the only wow killer is blizzards next mmo! hmmmm....wonder why they are waiting so long to release it??
Rift took a few million WOW gamers away but WOW still dominates. SW:Tor will take a few more million away but WOW will still dominate Blizzards next MMO may take even more millions away but WOW will still dominate cause it has found it's own niche of gamers that like it no matter what. Now when Lineage III is officially announced well then there could be some minor trouble.
I'm sorry, Rift is a great game but there isn't a way in hell they took a few million away from WoW. They're lucky if they have a few million at all. I played it for about 5 months and then it started getting old. And, unless you were on a packed server, it felt desolate and you couldn't hardly finish invasions, let alone an epic invasion.
It will not kill WoW. Theres 2 many die hard blizzard fans for that to happen. But what will happen is that it will introduce new mechanics that future MMO will replicate. For example the intense story telling aspect of TOR might be seen in future MMO. Regardless while it will not kill WoW. If the game turns out to be great (which it probably will be) it will be a huge sucess.
There are lots of MMOs with story telling but this game is doing it with truck loads of money in their production value. This is not something anyone can go around replicating.
ergh stop with the WoW killer crap.
impossible to kill wow, only blizzard can do it. At very best wow will loose 20% players. But most likely 10% will come back to wow after some time.
