If this isn't jumping the shark, I don't know what is...

BubbleSniper2541d ago

yeah.. this is stupid.. Rest in Peace 3-d gaming? come the F on.. even MS and SONY are pushing it.. SONY for much bigger extent.

Zeixama2541d ago

Unless the real 3D Hologram display , the current 3D logic will not be mainstream . People concerns about their healths more than gaming .

it's about time this gimmick died. Sony and M$ need to be pushing higher resolutions and higher fps.

I don't think the technology is there yet....

I have a big feeling that once Sony's new 3D monitor hits the market the 3D craze will catch on a bit more. The tech is still early and I honestly do not think it is going to die any time soon.

The industry is pushing 3D in every corner of entertainment and technology. 3D phones, 3D games, 3D movies, 3D TVs, there are even full 3D TV stations now. I think that 3D although many are not too into it right now, will eventually pick up pace and I think that with the upcoming PS monitor it will catch on a bit more.

Dead? Not by a long shot. It's just new and many have not adopted it yet. The same was true about color TV in its early stages, and HD tv. DVDs from VHS and so on. I also think that as the technology progresses, more people will take a look at it. One facet that is holding many back are the glasses. Well, when glasses-free 3D is made available in wider media outlets and for a reasonable price, that will probably help push the tech to consumers more too.

I myself am not interested in 3D much right now. I rarely see 3D movies and I wouldn't be in a rush to buy a 3D TV or even the monitor coming up, but eventually I might get into it more depending on where the tech takes us. Who knows?

I don't think the 3DS has really failed (I am a believer of the theory that the 3DS is a lot cheaper to make than what it first appeared) But 3D was never really a big selling point for me.

I just wanted the nintendo games. The marios, the pokemons, the zeldas. So in a way, I do think 3D gaming was dead before it was even really alive. 3D films in the cinema are spot on, but for games, nah. Don't fancy it.

3-D rocks, if you haven't tried it yet your missing out.

Agreed, I was skeptical, saw a 3D movie in RealD 3D, was slightly impressed.

Then I played Motorstorm on a 106 inch Mammoth Projector in 3D, was nothing short of astounded.

Have yet to try KZ3 or GT5 (My small 3D collection) in 3D, but I'm looking forward to that.

Killzone 3, Socom 4, MotorStorm Apoc, GT5, MLB The Show 11...shining examples of how awesome 3D gaming can be. Looking forward to R3, Ico/SotC and Uncharted 3 in 3D. 3D gaming is truly federal.
