If you gained access to the Battlefield 3 Alpha trial be sure you read over the NDA and follow the instructions carefully, noncompliance will lead to some serious repercussions.
damn straight, punish those idiots who can't follow rules
Agree. And I'm being called badly when I say so.
grow up a little , you take video games too seriously
no i don't but when you sign a form agreeing to the rules of anything you should follow them, i do cause i have respect for what it is there trying to do, there is a reason for the NDA's and if you can't abide by them why should you be allowed to participate? so rethink your statements before you speak
Nobody likes gamers that resort to cheating to win instead of skills!
I dont want to post footage at all I dont want kicked off. How long is the alpha lasting ? I need to make one or two upgrades to my PC. More Ram to be precise EDIT: 31st July apparently :/ 2gb isnt enough regardless of what the minimum specs say mine crashes and closes itself sometimes but I enjoy it when I can get my memory usage down :D
4GB should be fine...
Four should be good. I have two friends that are also in the beta, one has four, the other has eight and they both say it plays smoothly. If you're like me though and have 16 GB of RAM, it's VERY smooth. :P
Just curious, but how do they know who posted what? People can just use a proxy and a new alias/email if video upload sites are providing user details to EA.
Well if they let people in who have bought their games ever since the first ones and they have verteran status on nearly everygame then people wouldn't have to share video's on what weve missed.
A little too drastic, no? =/ Like many others, I've been really enjoying all of the footage thats been posted onto YouTube these past few weeks.. I don't see what the problem is, really.
Post Alpha? Is that the same as Pre Beta?
The alpha phase of the release life cycle is the first phase to begin software testing . In this phase, developers generally test the software using white box techniques. Additional validation is then performed using black box or gray box techniques, by another testing team. Moving to black box testing inside the organization is known as alpha release
post, posting in a forum... YT...
oops. I should have added /s at the end.
. If they don't want anyone to see the REAL game play then WHY did they release multiplayer trailers showing exactly that...the multi-player footage from the " alpha " beta thingy...anybody??? I TELL YOU WHY... It's because they want to manipulate and distort what gets out. Show a mega-second clip here and there and act like that is how the game is playing...0_o...the video's don't lie...this game needs a lot of work and most of the footage has been high PC settings footage. If you believe EA-Dice...big if isn't it at this point, that the multi-player and single player will look the same then, where's the trailer like game play quality that they showed pre-E3??? Somebody has some splainin to do. :/ Anyone who thinks this game will LOOK much different than it looks now is only fooling themselves. That IS the way it will look. The beta has to do with how it will play and that seems to be worse than it looks. ;(
i dont read your comments i just go straight to the disagree button.
*about to answer how wrong Inside_out's statement is* *waits* Nah...i'll let him figure it out on his own...even if it takes a long...long time.
Its alpha testing, the game isn't in its best shape. They don't want people to see this early version of it because some people will start commenting negatively on it because they think this might be the final version which is not. Why would they show everyone a bugged out early version of the game?
At least it'll be better than companies that release alpha's for $60 and fixes them later with patches.
Good. Not only am I in the beta (but can't play it as I ain't got my new mobo yet) and I also do Sony beta testing, it's really annoys me when people break the NDA and leak footage. This is another reason companies shouldn't use beta's as promotional material. It just lowers hype and wastes time and effort.
I got into the Alpha and that's all what matters to me. Having too much fun at the moment to do anything else. Lol
EA should expect this when they send out alpha codes to 12 year old kids. Do they really expect these kids to understand what a NDA even is? People just install the software and never read NDA's or EULA's.
Dice doesn't show enough.
Exactly what I was thinking, take out all the alpha vids and all we have is the tank gameplay and metro trailers from e3.
