After yesterday’s desperate attempt to improve sales, Nintendo has moved further into unsteady grounds.
Wait...I'm confused now. Nintendo stocks went down another 20% from the previous drop? BTW, Nintendo isn't going to collapse. That's just dumb. They had one bad quarter out of ~6 years of profit. They have plenty of money.
no 20% was what it went down overall
Meanwhile at MS HQ.
are you stupid.... obviously you don't remember the SEGA days..
Microsoft doesn't need Nintendo to do badly for them to be in an upbeat mood, they have been on the up and up since the launch of the Slim 360, they are the only console manufacturer to have their console experience growth year over year in its 6th year. I'm not going to mention which company from the Same regiON is happY about this, I do not want to lose another bubble
Obviously nintendo doing bad is still great news for Microsoft and sony. Market share for both sony and microsoft is beginning to open up. Wii sales are down, profits are down, 3ds is selling poorly. It is quite a change from 1-2 years ago where Nintendo was just dominating the market. Whether its for the good of gaming or not is completely beside the point im making.
It was kind of expected. Wait until the holiday season and things should pick up again.
I really hope so I like nintendo a lot . I want to play Mario. Zelda. and other nintendo games in years to come
if everything goes horribly (which i kind of doubt) i have a feeling nintendo will become like sega.
Nintendo doesn't really have anything for the holiday season to make them stand out. They have Zelda and that is it. That isn't going to drive consoles sales either. There are just too many good games coming out this holiday season and only one comes out on a Nintendo platform. Plus if the Vita makes it out in America by then the 3DS won't have a big share of the handheld market at all. IMO Nintendo made a mistake launching the 3DS. The ONLY thing it has going for it is the 3D gimmick, which most people don't even like. Besides that is just a slightly upgraded DS. They should have launched a handheld that was mach more powerful than the DS and sell it at a loss to begin with. The 3DS appears to just be another upgrade to the DS. Spec-wise it is.
It's that time of the year so I wouldn't pay attention to the horror stories yet. All three companies are facing a slump at the current time.
Apparently a huge loss for previous Nintendo president, Hiroshi Yamauchi. He lost $500 million from this.
Stock drops, while not exactly positive, are not a definitive sign that a company is "in trouble."
Nope, definitely not. But, that combined with the fact that they are now loosing on every DS unit sold = Nintendo is in trouble.
Well, loss leading isn't a sign of trouble, either. In fact, loss leading is the smartest thing Nintendo's done in ages. It's a proven commercial practice. Nintendo wants third party support. The only way it's going to get that is by getting consoles into people's hands. Hence the loss leading. If it pays off then Nintendo will more than make the money back from third party licensing fees.
Ah, you got me there mate. Sorry about the bad title haha
they'll make it back in software and 3DS store sales. That there is pure profit.
I wouldn't say Nintendo is doing that badly, their just not dominating any more.
Isnt sonys stock also down like 20 percent? I guess that doesnt matter
Bro give out a link or people will not believe you. Like so: http://www.cnbc.com/id/4385... (err okay its last weeks news hehehe)
if you say anything negative against sony they wont believe you regardless of link And I will never get this 3ds sales BS The 3ds is outpacing the ds worlwide and number 1 in japan which was better than the ds was ever able to do
Ahahaha true but hay I found the updated report regarding Sony and Ninty stocks on Bloomberg. http://www.bloomberg.com/ne... So for all those who are interested and actually understands how business works there's the link. I actually looked for that one. lol! Unlike most news around here XD
With the Holidays quickly approaching it is not really a shock that people are not buying much right now
lol this site is hilarious and trolling disgusting. we are talking about gaming and to bash Sony ppl mention SONYS losses bcus of their television division. Some ppl really are morons stick to gaming topic not televisions. All companies have divisions reporting loses wether its tv's,radios,os, whatever but here we are talking about gaming. Bottom line this was bound to happen with bs tech,3d tht sucks and regurgitated games. As a kid i liked nintendo but wii is trash and every ds is moreof the same. Ill happily wait for Vita at least i knw the tech and games will be solid.
Almost every Japanese company expects losses to continue due to the devastating effect of the Earthquake. It's expected after every major disaster, especially something of that magnitude.A stronger Yen isn't helping matters either.Though the 3DS has shaken some of the consumer confidence in the brand, hence the hefty fall in the market capitalization.
I find it funny at what lengths go sony funboys :)
they just lay around in thrid place...spitting their venom...lol.
