Ubisoft: our DRM “is a success”

Ubisoft have told PC Gamer that they see their controversial always-online DRM as a success. Earlier today a Ubisoft representative admitted that the developer has seen “a clear reduction in piracy of our titles which required a persistent online connection, and from that point of view the requirement is a success.”

Lol, always a success. Go to any torrent site. You may have to jump through a few extra hoops but they are ALL cracked and up for DL.

A success, at what? making it so people can't play your god damned games. Using always online DRM isn't "successful" it's intrusive, buggy and when it comes right down to it makes the product suck. But hey, Good for you Ubisoft, it only took you, what? nearly 2 years to perfect it and now people are going to pirate your games more then before because they don't want to pay for a product that doesn't work.

This is all just getting out of hand, having to pay for an online pass, DRM software, and the new trend from Japan where you cannot delete the saved games on the 3DS. Whatever happened to buying a game and OWNING it, these companys are attacking our consumer rights and its getting more and more like you are just renting the games you buy. Something has got to give at some point they are getting away with too much bullshit.
