Is this a depressing time for gamers?

MMGN: Should we just admit that 2011 is a depressing time to be a gamer?

Sure, there are a few original gems; L.A. Noire and the yet to be released in Europe or Australia Catherine come to mind over the past few months, but on the whole, the year feels lacking, almost to the point of depressing if gaming is your passion.

As a gaming enthusiast, rather than a part-time or casual player, 2011 is morbidly depressing.

The year has been fantastic so far and we are heading for one of the best holiday line ups I can remember. The only thing depressing is reading nonsense like this article...O_o

Ya ummm I don't know what hes talking about. So far this year I've played...

DC Universe Online
LittleBigPlanet 2
Dead Space 2
Killzone 3
Mass Effect 2
Portal 2
Mortal Kombat
Motorstorm Apocalypse
InFamous 2
LA Noire
Dragon Age 2
Marvel vs. Capcom 3
Socom 4
Crysis 2

Now you could argue that some of those were duds, but overall I enjoyed most of them. I don't know what games this guys been playing but apparently it hasn't been any of these.

It should be one of the best years in gaming So. It got off to a good start, but between hackers, the gaming media, and just overwhelming negativity and low moral, it has been a little depressing.

Still looking forward to the games coming this year, but it just feels like there's a black cloud lingering over my head just waiting for the opportunity to rain on my parade.

Its not depressing for everyone, For a lot of people there is plenty to be excited for, But if you're not a fan of Uncharted, Gears, MW, or Battlefield then yeah its pretty depressing, luckily there are still a few hidden gems and yet to be localised games coming our way to keep us occupied.
