Will ‘Mass Effect’ Save The Video Game Movie Genre?

Game Rant’s most anticipated game of 2011 isn’t even releasing in 2011 anymore, but we’re still just as excited. Of course, that game is Mass Effect 3 and we’ve been loving every bit of it, from the first screenshot and trailer to our E3 demo and Comic-Con 2011 hands-on. But that’s not what we’re going to discuss here and instead, we’re going to step into the dreaded territory of video game movie adaptations…

It has such a vast and detailed narrative that inevitably, the movie will miss something out for the sake of brevity. That alone might put off die-hard fans who may have a particular attachment to a certain part of the game.

However, this is a game that has the potential to make a great movie. Actually seeing live action models of the different alien races, vistas like the Citadel and clubs along with action enhanced by biotics and tech- if any game can 'save' the movie genre, it is this.

Now to the tough question: who plays Shephard? Personally, I suggest myself. I know what the ladies like.
