SBG Preview: Solatorobo hunting DS owners' wallets this fall

It’s been almost twelve years since we saw an entry in the Little Tail Bronx series. With CyberConnect2’s original Tail Concerto being lost in the mix of .hack// and Naruto Ultimate Ninja games over time, a spiritual successor to the game finally came out last October in Japan: Solatorobo: Red the Hunter. It looked like the game may not see an American release, but XSEED stepped in and picked up the title.

Diehard GameFAN: Solatorobo: Red The Hunter Review

DHGF: With the release of the 3DS, the DS’s releases are dwindling, and Solatorobo represents one of the last notable games to be released on the system. It’s also probably one of the only games ever to have 100 commercials made for it in a bid to break a world record (or at all, really). Some of them give facts about the world ranging from population demographics to the type of shoes the denizens wear and even how toilets are set up on airships. They all serve to provide the game with some publicity, even if some like this were less than helpful in providing any information about the game itself.

SBG Review | Solatorobo: This game's got something fur everyone

Eric Albuen: "Solatorobo is definitely an oddball of a game to decipher. If you picked the box up at a game store and looked right at it, there are probably a couple things that go through your mind: “This game has furries.” “Aw sweet, it comes with a soundtrack.” “How in the world do you even pronounce this title?”

Most that we’ve mentioned this game to seemed to be turned off by that whole furry thing, and decided to just dismiss the game. StarFox had a cast of similarly anthropomorphic animals, though, and that seemed to go over pretty well, don’t you think?"
