There seems to be some confusion over pre-order sales for three games, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3. It seems that the former exceeds both BF3 and MW3,
well i'm not a pre-order kind of guy, even if u get free stuff. I say, just wait for the real sales to come and we'll see who exceeds who in sales ;)
Good point. I think a lot of people are going to wait until these games are released and then see which one is more worth their time (or both).
either way EA wins.....having 2 titles battling together for top spot is never a bad money maker.
I will preorder it but i'm waiting to see if there will be some kind of collectors edition
A lot of people will most likely cancel their preorders once the SWTOR beta is over.
A lot of starwars fans out there! Even I want to try it!
Why would they cancal.. I have preordered it and most places here in the UK you dont get into the Beta for pre ordering.. and yeh beasty is right.. probz alot more star wars fans than Battlefield and Modern Wardare fans tbh..
Beta is over as of a few days ago.
Not surprising to me. Of the 3 games, the only one I will get is SWTOR. Im about sick of shooters whos only goal innovation wise is graphics. Ever since COD4 was released, its all been the same.
cant wati gonna be great
I call BS on that. Star Wars is a PC title.
Still Star wars / Bioware / Mmo fans will be preordering this so it has alot going for it :) and the fact every1 pre ordered the collecy edition then put it on ebay for twice the price will have sumin to do with the pre order sales rocketting ;)
Dont feed the ominous crow . He just sit there waiting for dead bodies and crops to feast upon .
Oh console-fanboys.. will you ever truly learn
Guys, come join the dark side. Good old PC MMO by a reknown developer - you can't go wrong. I haven't pre-ordered (don't see the point) but it's a day 1 buy, and a royal f*ck you to all the FPS games.
I'm skeptical about this. More preorders *on PC*, I can believe, but with the only source being EA's CEO, I wouldn't take this statement for proven fact just yet.
You seem to under estimate the number of Starwars and MMO fans there are out there.
bring it on!! so hyped for this
Really? That's pretty intense. But I think what that proves is a lot of people are still sitting on the fence in the whole MW3 vs BF3 debate.
Or people are fed up with buying same ol fps and now are just keepin the old game instead of buying it again for the same experience.
Hey, if that's the case, then why would this seemingly less popular star wars game be bossing both of these games in sales? I hear all these people saying cod is dead and battlefield is the way forward, but no one's putting their money where their mouth is. I mean, no one even knows when this star wars game is coming out and they're still pre-ordering the hell out of it. I mean, there's the possibility that people aren't even that keen on FPS games this year because of the wealth of awesome games coming out this year. I mean most people will probably wait until they've played amazing games like uncharted 3 or dark souls or skyrim etc (and yes, it is factually verified that these games will be awesome) before buying one of the big two. It'll be interesting to see how the pre-order figures stack up as we get to september-ish.
lets not forget EA published APB and they butchered and destroyed the game with subscription fees, they overhyped a mediocre title that people knew was not worth the 15.99 per month, and now theyre doing the samething with star wars the old republic.
yeah right it was EA that made the game sh*t to play /s . The dev and the press was as much if not more at fault there . From the very beginning , whenever a preview , interview or video of the game popped up all we were usually fed was : - OMG its from the creators of GTA -OMg look at the insane amount of customisation . It was quite easy to sense something was amiss , and all revealed when a playable version arrived .
It's not really surprising considering how many Bioware fans, Star Wars fans, and MMO players there are in the world.
You know what i am going to do. Wait a month or 2 read reviews and see if the game has any major problems. If the reviews are positive and theres few issues then i shall get it. It will probably be good though knowing that Bioware is behind it. Was started to get tired of World Of Warcraft the game has gotten stale over the years.
SWTOR has a long ways to go to get to the quality WOW has become.
The hate is strong with you fanboys.
