SegmentNext - "The frustrating 'always on' Ubisoft DRM is back in PC version of Driver: San Francisco and it sucks, we can confirm from our past experiences".
Ubisoft should focus more on the quality of their products versus this UN-Winnable war against Piracy. This article is so true cause this DRM only make people wanna NOT buy the game at all cause Ubisoft DRM is a pain in the ass for legitimate buyers. Make a quality product and people will buy it. The Witcher 2 was released on some sites with NO DRM and the game has sold very very well. P.S. Driver's DRM will be Cracked before the game is released like most Ubisoft DRM.
If you put DRM, the pirates win.
Yeah, I've been a PC gamer forever, and have never really been too bothered by DRM, though two games come to mind- the original F.E.A.R game, secure rom repeatedly said my disk wasn't legit and Assassins Creed 2- Ubi servers down, try again later. The hell do I need servers for to play a single player game? Please, make me download cracks for games I actually purchased.
Another stupid move by ubisoft.
Tbh it's fairly obvious ubisoft doesn't give a rat's ass about PC gamers. They are probably just releasing it on the PC as they know it'd make them $$$. If ever there was a game this year to pirate, I'd say it's this one.. not condoning piracy but if my computer could play this game and I wanted to play it, I sure as hell wouldn't pay for it with ubisoft's blatant disregard to their pc fanbase.
dont worry guys! RAZOR1911, RELOADED, SKIDROW, Team Fairlight and many others will come to the rescue! i had a problem with DRM on GTA IV that not even rockstar games could help me, stupid DRM damaged my windows installation! i even bought the game 2 times! until i downloaded one of their cracked .exe i could get the game run correctly.
GTAIV.....I cracked that sum bitz the same day i bought it. My friends told me the DRM was atrocious.
lol, I don't see the point of 'em putting the security in.. Pirates can & will easily get around it like they've done countless times before in the past. Pirates always win. (except when they're up against Ninjas xD)
I guess I'll grab a bootleg copy then , Ubi really hates their customers
Why bother ? Waste of time , bandwidth and hard drive space
its not going to sell on the PC anyway
ya true its not really gonna sell on pc, cuz racing games r more suited towards consoles. it really didnt hav a chance 2 sell on pc, now it doesnt hav any chances at all. ill be suprised if da game on pc sells more than 500k copies.
when this becomes one of the most pirated games of the year, ubisoft will know it's their own damn fault. but will they learn? will they fuck
