Left 4 Dead 2 Look Back - GoozerNation.com

GoozerNation.com writes, "Left 4 Dead 2 was released in November of 2009 and while it was generally well-received, it garnered a lot of criticism from those who enjoyed the original game. One of the biggest complaints was that L4D2 was released too closely to the first game. A year, almost to the date, separated the two titles."

I still have yet to play the 2nd game

I enjoyed L4D2 but felt that the characters from the 1st game were just better..I also enjoyed the locations more in the 1st game too I think.

Sure they are similar...Its the same formula...Much like the Portal and Half-Life sequels.

I really hope they have scoping or iron sights for L4D3...that in my opinion is one of the major flaws.

I liked L4D better for that same reason but mainly for the setting. The forests of the Northeast made for a much scarier and memorable setting than the south.

I agree. The forests and cabins and darkness of the maps (all at night if I'm not mistaken) just worked better. And if you are going to do the south- they should have done Texas. I think that would work great. I hope they pick better locations for the inevitable 3rd.

edit: the only scoping I'm aware of is on the Sniper or Rifle, no other guns. So why not the rest?

I thought they already had scoping.

I don't think any Valve game has ever had iron sights. Hip-firing keeps things fast-paced, but I suppose having options is always nice.

As for the levels, L4D1 had better levels, mostly because they were darker. L4D2 felt too bright... with the flashlight being only necessary in a few spots.

Couch co-op is such a selling point for me.

I still play L4D2 on my 360 with some of my clan mates every week.

I liked L4D1 better but part 2 isn't without it's perks. Still quite a good/large community on both games still. As far as I'm concerned Valves only good games have been the L4D games.

I know people will hate my opinion, but I have found all their other games vastly overrated. Especially the likes of Portal and Half Life. I've never been able to make it through either of those games fully..... and oh how I tried...

I preferred the first for sure, but 2 wasn't bad.
