Angry birds developer faces legal notice for violating patent rules

Rovio , the developer of the famous multi-platform video game , has been sued by US court for violation of the patent rules.
Lodsys claims that the Finnish company violated its patents, which cover the methods for purchasing new levels inside the Angry Birds game.
The European patent system requires that software inventions exhibit some physical effect from patentability, while the U.S. patent system is more lax, allowing for purely idea-based software patents.

Actually Angry Birds is inspired to the point of being a rip off of games like Crush the Castle. While it sucks some people try to leech, I hate to see Rovio being successful for pretty much cloning a game when original creators are aren't even recognized.

Another day, another game developer being sued. You will not be able to break wind(Patent Pending) soon without being sued.

Not nearly. I'm surprised there isn't a patent for dialing a number attached to a contact.
