With Goldeneye: Reloaded releasing in such a crowded period it's going to need all the ammo it can muster.
i doubt it, just look at the boards on gamespot/gamfaqs. there not exactly the most active boards...
We'll see soon enough.
No... I do believe it will have to be a good game for that to happen.
I don't think it'll bomb but at the same time I can't see it doing million+ copies either. GoldenEye was great for its time but the FPS genre has evolved since it was released.
way too many good games coming out in the fall...this game doesnt stand a chance....
i will buy it on name alone.
Prepare to see Goldeneye become the next CoD
Yes. Absolutely correct. The name alone will sell the game just like it did on the Wii.
But when you look at the amount of Wii systems out there, it sold poorly.
Yeah, I was being sarcastic. Goldeneye sold extremely poorly on the Wii, regardless of the number of Wii's sold.
And for all the millions that said it would sell like crazy and for all the Wii systems out there, the game barely broke one million in sales. I agree with zslash above. Long story short, the game doesn't carry the weight people think it does. Everyone thought Duke Nukem would sell because of the name also. But that's just not how things work. Games like Goldeneye and Duke Nukem were great BACK THEN. But things have changed in the gaming landscape. And just because we have a fondness for certain franchises from way back when doesn't mean their all of a sudden going to be mega hits in the new age.
Nope it wont sell because its coming out in November. That month alone is Uncharted 3, MW3, Skyrim, Halo CE, MGS collection, AC: Revelations, The Witcher 2 and theres probably more I'm forgetting.
Wrong, I loved GoldenEye007, but, I would never buy a game based on franchise name alone. Although I would for certain developers.
Sell on name alone? They tried that with Goldeneye: Rogue Agent, and they ended up canceling the sequel to it since sales were so poor. Don't underestimate Bond fans, we're not stupid.
Rogue agent sold more than the recent Bloodstone (1 million) which at the time was a good target to reach.
