Sony Executive On PS3 Exclusives In 2012 And GamesCom Announcments

awww looks like there won't be any new reveals for the ps3 at gamescom. i was looking forward to some announcements but oh well can't wait to see new info for vita and hopefully a release date.

All I really want is a Vita release date (2011 in the US please). A PS3 price drop would be nice too so I could pick up a second slim. There are so many games I'm picking up it's rediculous.

I need to get the uncharted collection, god of war collection, ico/SotC, uncharted 3, dead island, white knight chronicles 2, twisted metal.

Then there is the Vita and all the games I'll be picking up for that. Soooooooo much money to spend!

i think a price cut is almost guaranteed. the last price cut was quite a while ago and sony have said themselves recently that the ps3 has been profitable for a while now

Quite frankly, I don't know how anyone can burn through Deus Ex, BodyCount, Resistance 3, Dead Island, Gears 3, Splinter Cell remake, Dark Souls, Twisted Metal, Rage, Batman, R&C All For One, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, Skyrim, Modern Warfare 3 and Assassins Creed Revelations in 3 months anyway.

I will have plenty to chew on well through next year. Skyrim will suck 3 months of my life alone. The rest will easily tide me over for a while.

Not so much that I'm loaded lol. I just plan way ahead for things that I really want. Like the Vita for example. I saved money for a bit and was able to pay that off completely a while ago. I put more towards my games way in advance (usually as soon as preorders open) so that by the time theyre released it's all paid for and just waiting for me to pick it up. Works a lot better that way for me at least.

Also the wife tends not to mind seeing 5-10 here and there on the bank statement instead of the 60+ in one shot.

They've had surprises at every Euro event(previously Leipzig) since I can remember for the PS3, I would be surprised if they did not have it this year.

Hopefully this means they're getting ready to come out with PS4 next year or so, maybe that is why they aren't announcing anything new for the PS3.

Well there is probably Last Guardian, Starhawk, and probably Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Plus it's not the end of the year yet. Remember Uncharted 3and Resistance 3 were both announced at the end of last year. So the same thing could happen for Syphon Filter or some other game again. In fact it probably will happen, since Sony likes to spread out announcements,

There's agent next year, the last guardian, starhawk already announced for 2012 right?.. plus the ps vita.

I mean most people will still be trying to play through this years games next year with an added few, i will anyway.

And Quantic Dream's new project, Adrift from Dontnod Entertainment, and Sly 4.

With the amount of quality first-party Sony developers PS3 is not gonna have a shortage of great exclusive games for a good long while.

It wouldn't surprise me if Sony do a reveal of Adrift at Gamescom this year. I thought it would be coming at E3, but there was no show. It has to come at some point!

haha, still hanging on to verssus XIII. haha at this point this exclusive title is dead in the water.

lets not forget guerilla games is expected to show something new from their developement studio in the next year or so, also sony is most likely secretly working on the getaway or eight days, when those titles were halted it didnt mean they were scrapped, they simply put those titles in hiatus mode and now would be a good time to go back to them.

We will see. Have you not noticed how long the game is taking already, and how much effort they are putting into the technology and graphics. They are truly optimising this game for a single platform.

And dead in the water as an exclusive PS3 game, or in terms of being good? Well all I know is it's gong to be amazing! There's not much stopping that, apart from it actually coming out, which this far into development and investment, it HAS to.

As much as I'd like to see Eight Days & The Getaway, I don't think they'll be coming.

360 currently has a larger library of games. (FACT)

Aside from all the Kinect exclusives that you choose to ignore because you think Kinect games don't count for some fanboyish reason, MS still have Gears 3 which will outsell ANY PS3 exclusive releases this year (Sales = Demand = popularity/quality of that product) , Forza 4 which IS currently the highest rated racing franchise this year and will once again show why it holds the crown for Racing sim, Halo CE Anniversary, Minecraft and The Witcher.

Aside from those, there are a TON of multiplat games coming out WHICH many people are looking more forward too than most if not ALL PS3 games such as Skyrim, dark Souls, Batman, Rage, MW3 and Battlefield 3.

I will never understand how the Sony Faithful find some new FUD comment that they latch onto every year and then stick with it no matter how untrue it is.

I guess 3rd place for so long is taking it's toll.

im sure u are excited to play kinectimals 2 and kinect sports 2 since those are titles u dont want to ignore cuz u are a xbox fanboy. most of the other gamers want more high profile core titles.

both MS and Sony are greedy companies who wants to extract money from consumers. but at the end of the day, there's just more games to look forward to on the ps3.

Only exclusives so far i am looking forward to are Nino kuni for the ps3 and Halo 4 for the 360.

This gen must be coming to an end, Sony and MS are probably focusing their resources on the next gen.
I suspect that the ps4 and xbox next will launch around the same time, so both companies are probably looking to launch with top titles, to draw customers.

john hight back in 2010 in a interview with Mtv confirmed that they were working on 2 projects. one which his team is working on while the other team working on a much larger concept project to be released after the other. there's been job listings that santa monica has been hiring or looking for experience in "FPS/TPS, open world, vehicle combat" but nothing is confirmed.
