7 60 FPS PS3 | Xbox 360 Games To Look Forward To

GB: "For some reason or the other, some gamers believe that sixty frames per second are not doable on the current generation of consoles. But the truth is, 60FPS has not only been done in this generation but also done during the good old days of the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360. Some prominent examples include Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Burnout 2.

Today we take a look at seven upcoming games that will be running at a slick 60 FPS on our beloved PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Hopefully, this article will also remove the consfusion that 60 FPS is only possible on a gaming PC."

I don't think there is any confusion about consoles and their ability to run games at 60fps.

The only reason 60fps has become an issue recently is because of the COD vs BF3 war being raged. It will die once the games have been released (or at least I hope it does).

trainsinrdr2369d ago

I disagreed simply because I can.

zootang2369d ago

Give me 30fps Uncharted 3 over any of these.

Organization XII2368d ago (Edited 2368d ago )

Uncharted is overrated

jeseth2368d ago

Uncharted is only becoming "overrated" because of its great success.

Much like Halo is an overrated Sci-Fi FPS "overrated", God of War is just an "overrated" hack and slash game, Gears of War is overrated, Killzone is "overrated", etc. etc.

Similar to Call of Duty and how it is now "overrated" annual shovel ware. People just like ot hate on what's on top. COD and Halo are 2 of the best online shooting games as far as Gameplay and Community and graphically COD is very good...even for a multiplat. Gears an Uncharted are 2 of the best 3rd person shooter/action games there is. GOW is rediculously incredible but people want to build up crap like Bayonetta?

Once Battlefield 3 gets the critical and cultural success of COD . . . people will start saying its overrated too and that they don't innovate anything.

COD and all the other games I listed are F'Ing amazing and if they SUCKED so much then they wouldn't sell very good and games that are soooo much better than them would sell more. But they don't .. . because they aren't.

Part of COD success is because of the preference of 60fps. No one is using this issue as a weapon against other FPS's. Only people mentioning this are PS3 fanboys. There is no vs war or back and forth between fanbases which in reality are mostly the same gamers being part of both groups. I only hear of the frame rate difference being mentioned out of insecurity from ps3 fans using BF3 as a sort of presumptuous manufactured PS3 trophy flag to go up against and beat the supposed pro 360 COD franchise. Media exploits this.

There is no war I assure you this battle is a one sided one and I don't mean in a success sense but only one group is doing battle

Yardie2369d ago

cod vs bf3 isnt xbox vs ps3, it's cod vs bf3.

DaTruth2369d ago (Edited 2369d ago )

Both games are on PS3! I don't usually like to speak this way to people, but that was the [email protected]$$est comment I ever heard!

MW series is the best selling game on PS3!

jeseth2368d ago

I don't know a single person that buys a game based on how many FPS it has.

Peaceful_Jelly2368d ago (Edited 2368d ago )

@jeseth because when you're a console gamer you just don't have any other choice! But if there where 2 versions of a game, one running at 30 and the other at 60 I could assure you that everybody's gonna buy the one running at a higher frame-rate.

High frame-rate games not only look nicer but they play better too.

jeseth2368d ago

That is true and I do agree with you but I think we are in the minority of the average video game consuming demographic when we talk about buying the version with a better FPS.

I'm willing to bet most people don't even know what FPS means outside of First Person Shooter!

Caffo012368d ago

@ Peaceful_jelly

no, i could buy BF3 for pc but i'll buy it for ps3 only because i have my firends playing on it..

I prefer my games at least a resolution 1280 x 720 because anything less than that is just too damn blurry on my 1080p set. therefore, if the current generation can't handle 60fps don't take away from the visuals because 30fps is good enough for me.

pumpactionpimp2369d ago (Edited 2369d ago )

I agree completely. sacraficing graphics for frame rate, is showing the limit of the hardware.

I understand nothing can be completely perfect, but i would rather have a good looking game with a lower but stable frame rate, rather than having a game that looks dated running at 60fps.

example my computer runs ghost recon @ about 300fps... it doesn't mean the game looks all that pretty though.

theonlylolking2369d ago

MW3, BF3 and forza 4 are the only games on that list I will most likely be getting.

Ducky2369d ago (Edited 2369d ago )

BF3 was on the list? O.o

NoobJobz2369d ago

BF3 wasn't on the list.

Peaceful_Jelly2369d ago (Edited 2369d ago )

All fighting games are 60fps but they only put MvC3 there, what about KOFXIII?

Sprud2369d ago (Edited 2369d ago )

..and Soul Calibur V

Ducky2369d ago

...hmm, didn't know the new Driver game was to 60fps.
Might have to keep an eye on that.

LadyGaga2369d ago

Because it's 60 fps? Is this a joke?

Ducky2369d ago (Edited 2369d ago )

Hell, I'll be buying it on PC anyways (IF I buy it), so not like it makes any difference to me.
... but a game at 60fps generally means that it also is fast-paced.

@ King_Kai below
No, there's a big difference in those frame-rates. Try playing a game on PC capped at 120fps, then cap it down to 60fps, then cap it down again to 30fps.
There's a noticeable difference, and sometimes it's that difference that lies between a mediocre experience and an enjoyable one.

KING_KAI2369d ago

hahahaah i have to agree. the game is gonna be the exact same whether its 60, 30 or 120 in 4d.
