GamesRadar - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 Review

GamesRadar - With the final installment of the much lauded Harry Potter series now in theaters, gamers are again treated to another licensed game. Another unreasonably awful, obnoxiously bad game. EA Bright Light seems to have truly outdone itself this time. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is a soulless monstrosity that could only have been birthed from the darkest of incantations.

There has never been a good Harry Potter game, which is a shame because there was real potential there.

I dunno why you got those disagrees. If you can't see potential in the Potter lore for a good game then you just haven't much imagination-just like Tolkein should have provided better games from devs by now.

The fact that, apart from the very odd semi success on the LotR front(and a LOT of fail too)we've had nothing great based on either universe which says a lot more about how publishers and developers have seen the IP than anything else-as a platform for lazy crap that the fans will just buy and sod the gamers.

That EA have done this even AFTER the drubbing part one got them is tantamount to sticking two fingers up at every gaming Potter fan and saying "buy it anyway-it's all you're getting!". It's not just arrogant but also lazy and a bit evil.

Imagine, just for one thing-had we seen the ideas seen in the(strangely quiet these days) Sorcery demos employed in a LotR game or Potter game? How wold that have been this bad? It would also have been one of the rare games where motion controls actually added a ton to the experience just like we always hoped they would all those years agbgo before we got jaded and turned against the idea because, again, developers were too unimaginative or too scared to try anything new or anything interesting and stuck with what they know, and in this case that meant using a whole set up for Potter that it wasn't suited to.

I don't know what you're talking about, Prisoner of Azkaban on ps2 was pretty good.

LobsterPot2523d ago

Chamber of Secrets PS2 was a boss game.

I was going to say this also, i loved it. Mainly the Diagon Alley part.

The PS1 version was great too!

Wow, such a shame.. The movie is quite good..

OT:Amy Winehouse died :(

LobsterPot2523d ago

Who gives a shit, she was a skanky drug addicted crackwhore and the world is better off without her.

it's not a 1 out of ten, it's at least a 4 and probably a little over 5.

if you seen the movie then you know the battle was done better in the game than in the movie because it wasn't rushed through as fast as possible (meaning there's actually a bellatrix fight, and we see what the other important characters (like ginny, neville, chamus) are actually doing during it.
