Botchweed: "It always annoys me when ignorant people blame real life violence on video game violence, when they have no grounds to outright assume that there is any link or connection between the two."
Man that guy makes me want to punch my screen.
Apparently the PS3 controller can now turn a SD TV on AND Play Halo.
holy sh!t i didnt know the X button could do that!!! off to test this new breakthrough
... where every retard gets his soapbox-opportunity to spout some more lies and nonsense into the air!".
Americans are naturally ignorant so this should not be a suprise.
Halo on PS3. Confirmed by Fox News! Fucking idiots...
FOX - Fail.
Has anyone ever noticed that these American "experts" are usually speculative idiots?
american american .... you know those idiots are everywhere . As an example France had its share of lobbyist associations (like "Familles de France") giving every garbage under the lead of so called child pyschology experts , of course funded by those associations of crazy parents . And last i checked australia and germany are still haven for nutjob censorship , when it comes to games
Good call, Baka. It's about Fox News being ignorant as always. Them being american has nothing to do with it. All countries have their own share of idiots.
Lot of these idiots come from Scotland
Postal 3: Fox Headquarters edition Make it happen, see what they have to say about that one.
Like I said in another article...Video games don't cause murder. And no amount of violence on a tv screen can desensitize a person to the horrors of real life violence. NOT UNLESS THAT PERSON ALREADY HAS SOME SORT OF MENTAL DISORDER TO BEGIN WITH! A "normal" person doesn't just decide to get a gun one day and kill other people. They would have to have some serious problems to begin with. Does Fox really believe that playing Halo will desensitize a person to the true horrors of war? Do they think running a person over in GTA will desensitize someone to running over a real live person? Idiots. :/
Might desensitize you to the blood and the gore, but in no way is it going to make you suddenly lose your conscience... People still have feelings and logic about hurting other human beings.. games dont change that.
I dont have a son
"and they grow up to be the wierdos in the basement" ummmm who else here has an apartment/house with girlfriend/wife (or the opposite) and have a decent job? i think i only have one friend who spends summers in the basement cause he is home from collage but even then he is always out and about
well if i had a book to sell he i could go on tv and talk nonsense in order ot get money ..
There is no denying pervasive dominance of evil in our societies and all human systems,.. Don't really blame games for violence,.. but this publishers and companies do some really nasty greed driven shit,.. so fuck them,.. They used to sell us a product,.. now you get half a game with nickle and diming consumers with DLC,.. I am really not liking the future of gaming at all,.. there is so much corruption and shit going on,.. that is never good for us consumers and gamers,.. It is only good for these companies that are stealing from us left and right,.. holly shit what sculfuckery are going on in the industry is unbelievable,.. Now we have online passes and codes because of the greed,.. not because it is better for us,..
God how funny, they say video games cause teen killers, Then they bring up the fact religion helped him get over the death. Video games are evil and cause iritational violant thoughts. While religion is perfectly normal and isnt iritational at all. I mean nothing bad has ever been caused by it religion
As far as I see Not only does religion have it's share of violence, but it has caused more wars and death than ANY thing else the modern media can ever create.
Games nor Religion are the cause of violence or death. Its the people/person behind the madness that does that. And someone tell this to Fox. Do violent games affect the attitude of players, sure they do. Will proper parental supervision curve that, yes it will! Its all about being responsible. If you can't be responsible for your own children then don't freaking make em! Don't blame a group (in this case gaming) for the irresponsibility of others!
Bt religion is almost always a very powerful controlling influence over people's lives(because it offers supposed answers to the BIG questions and life after death-which isn't a coincidence-if someone offered you life after death as long as you follow a set of orders and you believe them then, no doubt, you'd walk through fire or go to war for them/it, no?)and has often been used by divisive individuals for their own agendas-justg think of the bollion different sewcts of Christianity alone and the wars fought to this day in their name and it dwarfs anything games could EVER dop even WTH an evil mastermind controlling them. Anyone who ends up on a killing spree will not have done so because games "told them to" or because games made them insensitive to violence-not when you see worse and real stuff on the news and on the streets every day. No, someone has already got to have problems with their temper, with a mental imbalance, paranoia, schizophrenia etc if a game is enough to trigger their actions and religion would usually be a far more powerful agitant on someone'slife because people believe it's for a higher power and as a result religion can be used to make people terrorists etc while games never could and it's just damaged people doing these one off things rather than anything inherent to games-the same as when they blame a film or book for a copycat killing. that's only the METHOD copied and to have the DESIRE to kill or maim has to already be present in the person as games offer NOTHING in return for any action in real life. It's why religion is so often used by people with evil agendas to create a situation where people will do unspeakable actions purely because they think it leases their God. Are games evil? No. Is religion>? no. Religion is just a handy tool for already evil people to use to make others do their bidding and weak people wanting to believe or wanting to feel close to God will follow these evil orders. Religion, in and of itself, is no more evil than the people who keep it going-be they good or bad. The overriding thing here is that Fox wants to blame something other than the person when it's almost always someone's choice or illness behind evil acts rather than a game.
I'd raise him on the good stuff, like FFVII, Shenmue, Mirror's Edge, Max Payne 2, LittleBigPlanet. He doesn't need to be subjected to identikit first-person shooters so early on in life; it wouldn't be fair on him. Oh, and FOX are a crock of s***. Their typical ignorance on full display once again, giving in to sensationalism just to make sure they grab those few extra ratings. It's embarrassing.
I want my son to be a Halo killer. It sounds cool I learnt from movies, shows and games. That serial killers are very smart but crazy
He might as well wear a tinfoil cap while he's at it. The only people who grow up to be violent killers are those that already have issues, not video games. It doesn't take a genius to realize that people don't respawn after you kill them IRL.
It's the way of the world. There always has to be a scapegoat. The sad part is that it should be the individual that takes the blame, maybe even some blame goes to his parents. Violence was around far before video games, we as humans are almost always in a conflict/war. People just like to look to something to blame and violent video games are just an easy target. When I was a kid it was violent cartoons like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ect... The truth is, we act a certain way or do certain things simply because that is the way we are, no amount of violent movies, games, music is going to push us over the edge unless we were already there.
Oh I played Halo, see you all later......because apparently now that ive played it I have to become a...........*PUBLIC GASP*...."HALO KILLER!"
Oh so I guess that guy who just killed all those people in Norway has been playing on Video games way too much. ¬¬ Games will get the blame in some way...just you watch <sigh>
I know there was a reason I didn't like Halo. Thank you Fox news for clearing that up for me.
Well from what I have read is that the person that killed all those people in Norway yesterday played Pac Man on the Atari 2600 when he was younger so that right there is also proof.
ahh ya, it cant have ANYTHING to do with constant wars going on around us, violent tv shows and movies, bad parenting, and basic psychotics. and video games are to blame?
This is the same TV station(FOX) that's in jeopardy do to the hacking scandal from Rupert Murdoch(should I say Murdick LOL). I think this is total BS!!! Why would they show PS3 and they claim that Halo inspired him to kill? Did Halo teach him how to fame his dad? No!!!! and his dad claim that if he ever see him again he would kill him. If he does this he would be no better than his son. I am really tired of parents blaming video games for teen violence!!!! and I am tired of the news media reporting this garbage!!! Even when the news talk about terrorism showing violence images is worst too. What about the stereotypes, first it was Muslim terrorist and now White terrorist at Home(the targets teen and adult rebels and etc). They going to also blame video games for terrorism LOL!!!
the irony of any media outlet owned by murdoch having the gall to lecture anybody about morality? still, hopefully that old scumbag's media empire is gonna come crashing down around him, and really i think he and his little shitstain of a son should do time.
Seriously, does anybody at Fox News ever sit back and have a good, hard think about what they are reporting? If it were true that violent video games triggered violent behaviour then we would be looking at a world with millions of incidents of the nature we have seen in Norway. Yet, we only see a handful, which is by no means acceptable, but certainly cannot be attributed to video games. I've been gaming for 30 years, yet I find the thought of killing somebody horrific. Maybe a news network could step up to the plate and report on the 99.9999% of gamers that have not killed anybody......for real I mean!
WTF hes crazy he was trying to play halo on the ps3, lmao but seriously this is some bs, i hate when they blame videogames for crap like this, some parents pretend or dont care that theres something wrong with their kids they rather not deal with it and act like theres nothing wrong because they want to act like they have a normal kid
@Big Phil Actually It All comes Down To Bad Parenting You Motherf*cker
Breaking News: The Halo Killer was seen picking his nose just before the murder. According to FOX News picking your nose now highers blood pressure which turns people to monsters and violently go on a murder spree. Big Phil claims that nose picking may or may not cause people to turn into werewolves, but the fact still remains that the kid picked his nose therefore nose picking must be limited and illegal.
Thanks Fox. You've officially given any Republican gamer out there a bad name.
FOX=REPUBLICAN. And another thing DON'T BUY GAMES FOR YOUR KIDS if you don't understand the violence in the game. IT'S RATED MATURE 18+
That's right blame video game's, which happen's to be the only media outlet that has the capabilities to overcome the porno industry...... Lmao Jealousy....... As if movies aren't 2 to 5 times more violent than video games....... Watch Rambo (Great movie) kids gettin stabbed, blown to pieces, and thrown into fire's Oh wait! How about any SAW movie?
I only play the most graphic, violent, sadistic and life like games ever made yet the only person i wanna kill is idiots like this who wanna blame video games for murder and violence. Then again i really don't wanna kill them but slowly torture them over the course of a week in my basement until they think more sensibly. Question Mr. Smart Ass.....Who or what do you blame for all the violence and murders before Video Games, Movies, TV, Phuck-it even before Electricity was invented?
