Patrick Bach, executive producer at DICE, has stated that Battlefield 3 will empower players to control all aspects of the battlefield, rather than following Call of Duty's method of using air support.
wow, the video interview really goes in-depth, good job!
I'm really glad moh was cod-ified. I think it was then that they realized they need their own flavor and now battlefield will maximize its potential because of it. Running for cover when you hear jets manned by gamers and not auto kill ai is much more intense. Fulfilling if you put a 50 cal bullet through the cockpit
was playing bad company 2 online the other day and managed to headshot the pilot of a blackhawk after its mini-guns were tearing us up. Then a few minutes later i picked up a passenger in a helicopter from on top of a wind turbine on heavy metal, epic leap of faith from 300 feet up. I've stopped trying to compare cod and battlefield because iv realised that they're such different games in terms of scope, variety and fun.
It's press o instead, get the fk down.
Well they sure have mastered talking about the console version. Now they just need to dive into the showing part.
There is PS3 footage shown you know
Yes, I assume you are talking about the 2 seconds of PS3 footage in the trailer, or the video of the devs playing it on the jimmy fallon show. But that's a pretty weak amount considering the game is out soon. I mean, everyone knows why they are doing it. The console footage of BF3 will be comparable to both BFBC2 and MW3. There goes the huge competitive advantage that they currently have on PC. And after they do that, then they have to focus in on why the GAMEPLAY is so much better than BFBC2 or BF2, and why is that again? Don't get me wrong, MW3 hasn't realeased ANY reasons why gameplay is going to be a huge step up from MW2. But MW3 isn't being hyped up as the clear winner, like so many N4G articles are calling BF3. Does the console version look a ton better than BFBC2? And what are the multiplayer gameplay changes new to BF3? SO MANY articles and comments pretend like these 2 massive holes are already filled in. But I'll probably have better chances at a mature non-biased conversation talking directly to David Jaffe than posting on N4G.
He's totally right, It's a "press R1 to win" game...lol j/k
Or right trigger, Or left mouse click. :)
Whats the point of auto-air vehicles you can't pilot? Its convenient but cheap at the same time.
Not that I'm defending it, but usually guys who drive tanks can't fly jets... but yeah I'd rather fly them personally. Maybe there should be a specific class for air flight.
I know in BFBC2 we could shoot down the choppers. But how am I suppose to take out a fighter jet?
"The implications of this subtle dig is that call of duty caters to more basic game style that can often be exploited WITH OUT MUCH NEED FOR SKILL". So true, so so so so true. The community in black ops use the same over powered gun the AK7 4U. Because half the community have no skill and its the only way for them to get kills, its not like they can use anything else, the famas and the Aug are runner ups. But the 7 4U is the most common and over used gun, well sheep will always follow the rest of the heard and don't have the ability to use anything else instead of , Uhh hey imma use this gun because I heard its overpowered and u get easy kills im 15 prestige with a name like Black ops pwner. COD 99% noobs, sheep and luck. 1% skill
simply put call of duty makes u call an AI chopper in... battle field is an actual player flying the chopper. I prefer battle field lol
