The federal and state governments have reached an in-principle agreement to provide an R18+ rating for video games. The proposal has been debated at a meeting of attorneys-general in Adelaide.
yay about time!!!!
Holy Crap! I don't live in Australia but congratulations everyone who does!
OMG! So excited for this!!
Wait, what does this mean for the Australian gamers? Less banned games or what (not from Australia myself)?
Probably. It should anyway, or what would be the point?
i heard some violent games will not get releasedhere in australia still thought which is dissapointing still thought
^above Yeh true :-( But should be able to import from the UK or NZ without getting fines (or any PAL region) ^ big plus (sucks for South Australia tho lol) >>> Plain packaging and all MA15 might be turned into R18?? How weird, yet kids can get EASY access to movies like SAW
This, for all non Australian's out there (well and Australian's), is actually such a massively monumental day for Australian gamer's. Been campaigning for so long I'm just so thankful they've finally made up there bloody minds! Adult content should be available for adult people and I'm glad they've realized that.
So common sense emerged victorious. This is a truly rare occasion. Edit: Congratulations to the Australian gamers out there.
