Battlefield 3 Hands-On Report: Opposing Forces

PS Blog says: War has changed. And fortunately, it’s changed for the better. Not long ago, Jeff and I went hands-on with an early, pre-alpha PS3 build of Battlefield 3’s multiplayer mode. Building on the positive buzz behind the smash hit Battlefield Bad Company 2, developer DICE is crafting a muscular follow-up that leverages new animation and rendering tech, revamped online features, and a rough-and-tumble feel to create a new breed of military shooter.

Now that's what I've been waiting for actual PS3 footage. It looked great I can't wait for the game to come out!!!

Time to buy a new surround sound system. The sound is AMAZING!!!

I recommend some turtle beaches or astros. I have a very nice surround, but my TB's def have better directionality. (if that's even a word)

Sorry to tell you but it's still not PS3 footage (which is why I didn't mention it, nor attached the video). The [R] Reload keystroke can be seen in the corner.

Weird because DICE said they specifically were releasing the Metro multiplayer trailer for the PS3 in SDCC: 11' yesterday.

Ok will probably get the TB headset ... tired of using the Sony one.

"On that note, I was impressed to see that, unlike most shooters, Battlefield 3 emphasizes laying down suppressive fire — a key tactic in controlling and winning a real-life firefight. You’ll actually gain XP when you pin enemies behind cover. Better yet, you’ll also blur the vision of any enemies you suppress, putting them at a disadvantage. This is a perfect match for the Support class, with its high-capacity ammo clips."

Support class ALL THE WAY! I've always wanted to be the guy in the war films that's toting around the SAW and ammo while laying down devastating suppressive fire.

I'll be playing and mastering all of the classes. But I don't think I'll use the Defib as much this time around. I'll keep thinking I'm an assault and not a medic too lol.
